Disney Mobility Access

Q: What Disney World theme park attractions are accessible to wheelchair or ECV users?

A: When it comes to accessibility for guests visiting with mobility disabilities, there are varying degrees of access depending on the attraction.  These essentially fall into five categories:

  1. Guests can remain in wheelchair/ECV while enjoying the attraction.
  2. Guests must be able to transfer from wheelchair/ECV to the ride by themselves or with help of a family member.
  3. Guests using an ECV must transfer to a wheelchair (Cast Members at these attractions will have wheelchairs on hand.)
  4. Must leave ECV, transfer to a wheelchair to navigate the queue and then transfer to ride vehicle.
  5. No wheelchairs or ECVs so the guests must be ambulatory.

Guests using a wheelchair or ECV should stop by Guest Relations at the theme parks for a Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities as its full of helpful information.  In the meantime and to help you with your upcoming Disney plans,  here’s a breakdown of what rides across Disney World’s four theme parks fall into each of these categories.
