Which Park is Disneyland? Is it different from Disney World?

Question: Which Park is Disneyland and which Park is Disney World? Are there any differences?

Before I became a Disney Addict, I used the terms Disneyland and Disney World interchangeably! Have you heard people do this? I was guilty! If you are a new Disney Addict and need to brush up on your Park knowledge and lingo, here is a quick and simple comparison.

Disneyland Resort (DLR) in Anaheim, CA is very compact and comprised of two parks, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure. There are three Disney owned hotels at the DLR – Disney’s Grand California, Disneyland Hotel, and Disney’s Paradise Pier. Downtown Disney Anaheim is the third component for the DLR. Currently there are only a few rooms in the Grand California that are part of the Disney Vacation Club. The castle here is Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, the one with the pink on it.

Walt Disney World Resort (WDW) in Orlando, FL is comprised of four parks, Magic Kingdom (castle), Animal Kingdom (tree of life), EPCOT (white sphere), and Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM, with the sorcerers hat) There are MANY Disney owned hotels/resorts at WDW ranging in price from value to deluxe resorts. Quite a few of the resorts are part of the Disney Vacation Club. Downtown Disney Florida is much larger than the one in Anaheim. The Castle here is Cinderella’s and is the taller one with the blue peaks.
