2024 is here and there is plenty to be excited for! Resolutions, a year full of possibilities – and of course, the abundant amount of experiences in 2024. 24, in fact – according to Disney Parks Blog – but we expect there to be much more! Imagineers and Park staff have been very busy and are ready to show their har work. There is so much to be excited about – check out the magical list below!
1. Pixar Fest at Disneyland
Have you heard of Pixar Fest? From April 26 through Aug. 4, Pixar fans should head to Disneyland to celebrate their favorite Pixar films. This unique and colorful celebration is set to be in the themed style that Disney is well known for. Check out the concept art of the sculpture that will be there to greet you on Disneylands Main Street, U.S.A. There will be an all-new daytime parade “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” debuting at Disney California Adventure Park. At Disneyland park, look for “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” returns with some all-new scenes – including some scenes from “Turning Red.”
2. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World and Disneyland
There has been a lot of talk about the Splash Mountain refurb and 2024 is the year we finally get to see the all-new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. According to Walt Disney World Blog, “When the attraction opens, you’ll join Princess Tiana, Naveen, and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration. Along the way, you’ll see familiar faces, make new friends, and travel through the bayou to original music inspired by songs from the film as they are brought into the next chapter of Tiana’s story.” This is so exciting and we can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
3. New Star Tours Attraction Characters, Stories
Star Tours has always been something beloved by Star Wars fans. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues is getting a slight facelift by adding more stores and characters. This won’t only be limited to Hollywood Studios – but to Disneyland and Disneyland Paris as well. Keep a lookout for the dates of April 5th until June 2nd when “Season of the Force” will be headed to Disneyland. Hyperspace Mountain and special-themed merch, food, and beverages will be available to enjoy.
4. “Fantasmic!” Returns to Disneyland
Mark your calendars for May 24th – Fantasmic! is headed back to Rivers of America. New battle scenes and special effects await you. If you were a fan of the famous “Peter Pan” scene, have no fear – it returns as well!
5. Pixar-Themed Hotel at Disneyland
Paradise Pier Hotel is scheduled to become Pixar Place Hotel on January 30th. It will be the first fully Pixar-themed Hotel in the United States. Overlooking Disney California Adventure Park, prepare for an abundance of Pixar details and a new dining from Great Maple restaurant!
6. CommuniCore Plaza, CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT
According to Walt Disney Blog, “CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza will be completed in 2024 as part of the multiyear transformation of EPCOT. These new spaces extend the EPCOT festivals beyond World Showcase and provide a new home for additional exhibits and entertainment, offering the perfect space to gather with family and friends.”. EPCOT has gone through such a transformative experience, it will be wonderful to see this additional space open up.
7. All-Day Park Hopping, Dining Plan at Disney World
Starting on January 9th, Walt Disney World Guests that have a ticket with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass will be able to visit another theme park at “ANY TIME OF DAY” during park hours – subject to capacity limitations of course. Thats not all! Disney dining plans will be coming back as well! It will be an option for guests that are staying at Disney Resort hotels who, “purchase a vacation package with us starting with stays beginning Jan. 9. Guests will be able to choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan.” – According to Walt Disney Blog
8. Reimagined “The Little Mermaid” Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Missing Voyage of the Little Mermaid in Hollywood Studios? This year, an all-new theatrical production that is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic “The Little Mermaid” is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! There is plenty that has been reimagined and it should be visually stunning!
9. Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk
Have you heard of “The Cake Bake Shop”? It will be a table service restaurant – with French flair of course. IT will be opening on Disney’s Boardwalk this year! You can expect treats such as, “beautifully displayed handmade cakes, cookies, French macarons, brownies, dessert bars, pies and cheesecakes. Other locations have become known destinations for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, weddings, or for spending time with family and friends.”
10. Country Bear Jamboree at Walt Disney World
This year, the Country Bears will have some new songs that will be integrated into their iconic act. These songs will be paying homage to the iconic Grand Ole Opry!
11. runDisney Returns to Disneyland Resort, Plus a New Halloween-themed Event
There are Disney fans, and then there are runDisney fans! Set to return to Disneyland on January 11th to the 14th. Four days of fun events are set to occur as well! The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend this year will be themed to 2024 Halloween perfection!
12. Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea
Tokyo DisneySea is set to have a huge addition this year! Fantasy Springs will open on June 6th and the incredible planned areas will pay homage to some beloved Walt Disney Animation films. Spots like Rapunzel’s Forest, Frozen Kingdom, and Peter Pan’s Never Land will make their debut!
13. Pixar Day at Sea & Marvel Day at Sea with Disney Cruise Line
Well, its Disney! We love a theme – and Disney Cruise Line has two themed days in the books – Pixar Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea. According to Disney Parks Blog:
- For Pixar Day at Sea, Pixar stories will come to life on the Disney Fantasy through a cowboy sing-a-long breakfast with favorite Toy Story characters, Crush’s totally awesome pool party, themed activities and treats, a Pixar Pals dance party on the upper decks, character encounters and a deck show starring the Incredibles.
- For Marvel Day at Sea, on the Disney Dream out of Fort Lauderdale, the largest assembly of Marvel Super Heroes and Villains on land or at sea will gather for Marvel Day at Sea for an action-packed day that’ll unlock the inner superhero in all guests.
14. Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris
Have you been waiting for the Disneyland Hotel to open up at Disneyland Paris before making your trip? On January 25th, the Disneyland Hotel in Paris will be reopening! You can look forward to a complete reimagination from the luxury rooms to the dining.
15. Disney Treasure – Disney Cruise Line
Set Sail for adventure – The Disney Treasure will be debuting at the end of the year in December 2024! There will be so many stories told on this ship. From Disney Animation, to Star Wars, to Marvel – all make themselves known on this ship! It’s maiden voyage is a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise that departs on December 21st!
16. Disney Lookout Cay in The Bahamas
According to Walt Disney Parks Blog, “This summer, Disney Cruise Line’s newest, one-of-a-kind retreat on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, Disney Lookout Cay, will open.” The artist concept looks stunning and we can’t wait to see what it looks like!
17. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
The Summer 2024 is set to be a big one. A new DVC resort, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will be opening! We love an outdoor retreat – and one at Disney is always a favorite.
18. New Disney Vacation Member Lounge at Walt Disney World
Disney is always evolving and never seems to take a break! Construction on the brand-new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge will start in 2024 at Walt Disney World. Members can kick their feet up and recharge during their visit to the parks!
19. Adventures by Disney in Colombia
Have you always wanted to travel to Colombia? In 2024, Adventures by Disney will be headed so South America to see the sights of Colombia.
20. Storyliving By Disney in California
According to DPB, “In 2024, Storyliving by Disney will welcome its first home buyers at the Cotino community currently underway in Rancho Mirage, California. This first-ever Storyliving by Disney community will bring our company’s legacy of placemaking and attention to detail to life like never before. This vibrant new community is thoughtfully designed with creative guidance from Disney Imagineers who have taken inspiration from the region’s history, community and landscape to create a one-of-a-kind place that will inspire residents to write their next chapter.”
21. New Disney Eats and Stitch Attacks Snack Collections
Snacks and Stitch – a perfect match! New Disney Eats and Stitch Attacks Snacks merchandise collections debut in January 2024!
22. Explore an Open-World Star Wars Game
Star Wars fans, rejoice! – Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world Star Wars game is set to release in 2024. Explore an abundant amount of planets across the galaxy – both new and old!
23. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event
D23 in 2024 is going to be something special for Disney megafans. From August 9th to 11th, will have spectacular shows, new venues and multiple days of entertainment and experiences that bring together all the wonderful worlds of Disney.
24. New Disney Global Ambassadors Step Into Roles
We’ve got some New Disney Global Ambassadors! The 2024-2025 Disney Ambassadors have officially stepped into their roles! According to DPB, “This team of 13 Disney Ambassadors from seven Disney destinations around the world will be serving a two-year stint as “goodwill emissaries” who shine a light on cast members, share the magic of Disney with guests and inspire hope in local communities.”
