4 Reasons We Love Epcot World Showcase: Italy

The Italy Pavilion in Epcot is a trip through time. The 3 styles of architecture – Venetian, Florentine, and Roman – are prevalent everywhere you look! If you’ve been to Venice – you may recognize the scaled-down version of St Mark’s Campanile in the front of the pavilion. This is a nod to the stunning Venetian architecture but also, to Italy’s history with religion as well! Want to learn more about this small but mighty stop around the World Showcase? Check out the facts below!

  1. A Bit of Home
    • As mentioned above, the beautiful architecture that this humble pavilion is steeped with is not only shown in the surrounding facade, but in the highlights as well! “Fontana de Nettuno”, found in the Plaza del Teatro, is inspired by Bernini’s Neptune fountain! Even the greenery brings a bit of home as well – with Olive Trees and other iconic native plants can be found throughout!
  2. Save Me a Slice!
    • What’s an Italian Pavilion without Pizza! Check out Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria for some of the best pizza found in Walt Disney World! They have a variety of entrees if pizza is not what your heart desires. The Dolci/Dessert menu is pretty spectacular as well – grab a Cannolo Siciliano for those looking for something sweet.
  3. Old World Dining
    • At Tutto Italia Ristorante, you can do as the Walt Disney World website says, ‘Relax in Old World ambience…’. This dining hot spot requires a reservation – so if it’s on your must-dine list, make sure you plan ahead! The menu is packed with delicious classics and for wine fans, features a “wine flight” which is perfect to put everyone in a great mood!
  4. Stop and Shop
    • For those of you looking to spend some coin on some fantastic souvenirs, the Italy Pavilion has 4 shops that you can stop by!
      1. Il Bel Cristallo – Looking for Italian wares? Look no further!
        • La Gemma Elegante – This is smaller store within Il Bel Critallo!
      2. La Bottega Italiana – Find everything from Masquerade Masks to Cookware here!
      3. Enoteca Castello – Grab a glass of wine and do some people-watching thanks to this stop!
