With Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party officially kicking off tomorrow (November 7th), it is safe to say that the Holiday Season has finally arrived at Walt Disney World and with it an assortment of delightful new offerings.  Check out our list of five new things that will be happening at Disney this Holiday Season and head to the parks for a big dose of Christmas done Disney style.

1. Meet Santa Clause on Hollywood Boulevard– this year visitors to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have the opportunity to meet Santa at the Once Upon a Time Shop.  So pop on over starting on November 14th and let him know whether you’ve been naughty or nice!  Santa replaces Santa Goofy who used to appear regularly at the park during the holiday season.

2. Disney Springs’ Christmas Tree Trail- Christmas shopping has never been so fun.  Head over to Disney Springs this November and December with your cameras at the ready to check-out the fifteen delightfully themed Christmas trees on offer as part of the Christmas Tree Trail.  Saunter along paths while snow falls gently, check out displays like the Toy Soldiers and stop for a photo op or two, all while enjoying each of the trees themed after a Disny character or story.  The themes are as follows:

  • Mickey and Minnie Mouse
  • Disney Villains
  • “Moana”
  • “Beauty and the Beast”
  • “The Little Mermaid”
  • “Cinderella”
  • “The Princess and the Frog”
  • “Alice in Wonderland”
  • “Frozen”
  • “The Jungle Book”
  • “Mulan”
  • “101 Dalmatians”
  • “Tangled”
  • “Mary Poppins”
  • The Muppets

3. New Seasonal Tastes at Epcot’s Holidays Around the World – You don’t need a Food and Wine Festival to eat your way around Epcot.  As a matter of fact from November 30th – December 30th guests at Epcot will be able to sample a delectable bunch of tasty holiday treats available at select marketplaces. Here’s just a sampling of what will be on offer:

  • American Holiday Table –  Located at the American Adventure Pavilion this location will be filled with down home classic holiday eats including slow roasted turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, pork tenderloin with green bean casserole, roasted sweet potato wedges and  Champagne demi -glace and a nice thick glass of Shipyard Eggnog.
  • Prost! – Head over to Germany for Christmas done Bavarian-style. Guests can tantalize their taste buds with sauerbraten  with red cabbage and spätzle or heat up with the alcoholic Caramel Kiss featuring Werther’s Caramel and glüwein (a hot spiced wine).
  • Alpine House – Nestled between Morocco and France this eatery will be serving up holiday goodies such as duck confit with Brussel sprouts and a fig reduction, a cheese fondue bread bowl or a Frozen Winter Spice Hot Chocolate featuring Twinings of London tea.
  • Seasonal Southern Delights – Located next to the World Showcase Plaza, here you’ll find a tip of the hat to southern Christmas cooking with dishes like black-eyed peas and ham hocks,a chocolate pecan tart or a Frozen S’mores to drink.
  • Feast of the Three Kings Feast – Celebrate this holiday with a mix of Spain, Latin American and Caribbean flavors.  Found near World Showcase Plaza you’ll find an eclectic mix of dishes including beef tamales, Three Kings Bread and Coquito (coconut milk) with a rum float.

4. Mickey’s Royal Friendship Fair Holiday Edition – With the Magic Kingdom dressed up in all of its holiday finery,  Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire has also received a very special holiday makeover.  The show will now feature songs like Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bells and Happy Holidays and will see Mickey and friends dressed up for the Christmas season.   The show runs daily at 10:30am, 11:30 am , 1:00pm, 2:00pm, and 5:15pm.  However showtimes can changes so guests are encouraged to consult their times guide upon arriving at the park.

5. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! – One of the most talked about new holiday offerings has to be Hollywood Studio’s evening fireworks extravaganza Jingle Ball, Jingle BAM!  Drawing its inspiration from Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, this seasonal event will feature holiday-themed scenes from much-loved Disney movies, music, fireworks, lasers and film projections to explore the story of a missing Santa Claus as told by everyone’s favorite elves “Prep and Landing”.   The show will run on evenings starting November 14 – December 30th.  For those wanting a bit of VIP treatment, there is also the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Party which includes drinks, tasty Christmas goodies and a VIP viewing area from which to watch the evening show.  Costs for the dessert party are $69.00 per adult and $39.00 per child.
