5 Reasons to Stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Location
Disney’s Contemporary Resort has one of the best locations of all the Walt Disney World Resort hotels! It is extremely close to the Magic Kingdom with multiple ways to get from the hotel to the theme park. The monorail runs right through the middle of the hotel and will take you to the Magic Kingdom. You can also walk to the park from the hotel. The location gives guests fantastic views of the Magic Kingdom as well as the lagoon the hotel backs up to. You can even watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the hotel!
Dining
There are some fantastic dining options at the Contemporary Resort. Even if you aren’t staying as a guest at this hotel, you need to dine at at least one of these restaurants! One of the best restaurants on Walt Disney World property is the California Grill, which offers award-winning cuisine as well as spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom from its observation deck.
Chef Mickey’s is an extremely popular character buffet. If you want to eat here, make sure you make your reservations as soon as they become available to you. They fill up fast! The Wave specializes in local, fresh ingredients prepared in interesting and often healthy ways. Even the fast-food spot, the Contempo Café, is much more than just fast food.
Recreation
The pools at Disney hotels are always a great reason to stay, but there’s so much more to do at the Contemporary than just swim in the pools! There are basketball courts, tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, and jogging trails for those that like to stay active on vacation. You can also rent boats to go out on the lagoon or take a guided fishing excursion.
Rooms
The standard rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort are amongst the largest standard rooms on Walt Disney World property. If you’ve got a large family, if your kids are older, or if you simply want a lot of space to move around, you should definitely look into room size when you book a hotel. Standard rooms can sleep 3-5 adults and there are also suites available that can sleep up to 8 adults.

Perks
While all guests staying at on-site Disney hotels get access to the theme parks 30 minutes before opening, guests at Deluxe resorts get extra perks! These guests also get to enjoy Extended Evening Hours at the parks. Magic Kingdom and Epcot both offer these extra hours on select nights. Guests get more time to enjoy the parks, with less people!
