Disney guests have a big question to consider when entering the World Showcase area of EPCOT, “should we start in Mexico or start in Canada?” Whichever one is chosen as the starting point, one thing is sure- the Mexico Pavilion should never be missed! There are so many unique things to explore here, and so many special items are available. Let’s explore a few of the reasons the Mexico Pavilion is a fan favorite!
It’s a Great Place to Take a Break
Let’s face it, Florida can be hot (and sometimes rainy), and making your way around the entire World Showcase can be exhausting! Lucky for us, the Mexico Pavilion offers an air-conditioned escape inside the pyramid! This is one of my favorite locations to hide from random afternoon rain showers or cool off and get a break from the intense sun.
The Food
Who can resist delicious Mexican food? I sure can’t! There are 3 dining options available all featuring delicious, traditional Mexican fare. Looking for an indoor dining experience with a beautiful, romantic ambiance? Give San Angel Inn Restaurante, located inside the pyramid, a try. Or try the equally delicious La Hacienda de San Angel. No time for a table-service meal? La Cantina de San Angel has you covered with Mexican quick-service options.
The Shopping
This pavilion is home to some of the absolute best shopping throughout all of the Disney parks. Between La Princesa de Cristal by Arribas Brothers, to the hand-painted Dia de las Muertos skulls and dolls, there are so many amazing items to explore! Cool off in the air-conditioning while strolling through what is set to look like a beautiful outdoor Mexican marketplace.
La Cava del Tequila
Not only is Mexico home to some of the best food found throughout the World Showcase, but it is also home to one of the best bars, La Cava del Tequila! Make sure you pop in and try the famous Avocado Margarita or the La Cava tequila flight!
The Gran Fiesta Tour
On top of having awesome food, drinks, and shopping, Mexico is also home to its own attraction- The Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros! This attraction is a fun and relaxing boat ride that takes guests on a journey to find Donald Duck. There is usually little to no wait time for this attraction and it is a great way to relax and catch a break from the Florida sun.
There are so many reasons I could spend hours and hours visiting the Mexico Pavilion! Make sure you take the time to explore all it has to offer on your next visit to EPCOT!
