Get ready, Disneyland fans! Pixar Pier is slated to open in Disneyland’s California Adventure Park this summer! Here are 5 things we know about this newest land:
1. It will feature 4 neighborhoods.
These areas will be themed around The Incredibles, Toy Story, Inside Out, and a compilation of your favorite Pixar films.
2. Expect some new and some re-imagined attractions.
The Incredibles neighborhood will be home to the “Incredicoaster,” formerly California Screamin’, and will include new character moments, updated ride vehicles, and a mid-century-modern-style loading area. In the Toy Story neighborhood, guests will still enjoy the fan-favorite attraction, Toy Story Mania!. The Inside Out neighborhood on the western side of the boardwalk will feature a new family friendly attraction, which will open sometime in the future. Lastly, the fourth neighborhood will include a renovated Mickey’s Fun Wheel that includes gondolas highlighting favorite Pixar characters. Rest assured that the iconic Mickey face will still appear in the center of the wheel. This transformation, along with refurbishments of Games of the Boardwalk and Sideshow Shirts as well as the permanent closure of California Screamin’, will begin on January 8th.
3. Ariel’s Grotto restaurant will receive a makeover.
This signature dining experience along with the adjoining Cove Bar will be reborn as a new lounge and grill that will offer views of Paradise Bay and Pixar Pier. Although both locations will close on January 8th, Cove Bar will briefly reopen in April before it’s closed again for its renovation.
4. The remaining areas of land will become Paradise Park.
This will include Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr, and the Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.
5. Get a sneak peak of Pixar Pier during Pixar Fest this spring!
For a limited time beginning on April 13th, Pixar Pier will open during Pixar Fest. Guests will also be able to view the new fireworks show, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular,” as well as the Pixar Play Parade and “Paint the Night” parade.
Now might be the perfect time to book that Disneyland vacation! Family fun awaits for you at Pixar Pier!
