For most of us in the North knee-deep in snow, sunny Disneyland or tropical Disney World seem far, far away. However, D23 recently shared a wonderful list this week of ways to conjure up a bit of Disney magic from the comfort of your own living room. We loved this idea so much that we thought we’d pick a lazy Sunday to share some of our snuggly ideas with you.
1. Cozy up in your favorite Disney pajamas – For those of you that don’t already know, Disney Store is right in the middle of a January sale offering up to 75% off select merchandise. You’ll find a wide range of cozy pajama options perfect for those lazy Disney days. You can check out the sale here.
2. Bring on the comfort food! – Treat yourself to a delicious brunch (any time of day) with a classic eggs benedict recipe shared by Chef All Thiam from Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel. The recipe (which you will find here) has all the classic elements (English muffin, grilled Canadian bacon, poached egg and creamy hollandaise sauce) with a few Disney tricks of the trade thrown in. Trust us. It’s the perfect dish to cozy up to on a Winter’s day.
3. Hot Cocoa at the ready! – When it comes to a decadent night in-doors nothing beats a warm mug of hot cocoa. Disney Family offers a pretty amazing array of hot cocoa recipes. Here at Disney Addicts we think the standout is this Minnie Mouse-themed version. This delicious beverage is made of pink candy melts, white pearls, whipped cream, milk (of course) and chocolate mini donuts used to make the ears. You can check out the recipe here.
4. Curl up for a Disney movie marathon! – No cozy Disney-day is complete without tucking into a few of your favorite Disney films. From animated classics to some of the live-action adaptations that have recently come out, there’s something for everyone. Whether your family prefers to watch all the Star Wars films back-to-back or join Andy and friends with the Toy Story movies, we can’t think of a better way to spend some quality family time when its just too darn cold to go outside.
4. Get out the board games – When its too cold to go outside why not bring the magic of Disney to family game night with a Disney-themed board game? We’ve picked up a few during our visits to Walt Disney World and my family loves to pull them out when we’re missing Disney. However, if you forgot to pick one up don’t worry, the Disney Store has you covered. They’ve got a pretty impressive range of games that can be delivered right to your doorstep. From Guardians of the Galaxy Monopoly to Haunted Mansion Life (pictured above) to Hollywood Tower of Terror Jenga, there’s sure to be some perfect for your gang. Find out more here.
5. Unleash your inner artist – Winter Days are perfect for embracing your inner artist and trying out some Disney-themed arts and crafts. Our favorite? We’re smitten with the Porgs from The Last Jedi and find these cute puppets just too cute to resist. It’s amazing what you can create with cardstock, string, popsicle sticks and a bit of ingenuity! You can find instructions on how to make these cute little fellas here.
6. There’s an app for that! – Who says lazy Disney days are only for kids. Once the little ones are snug in their beds tuck into your favorite episodes of much-loved shows like Once Upon a time via the ABC app.
7. Pamper yourself with a spa treatment – Another way to conjure up a bit of Disney magic is with an exciting Disney-themed spa treat. The Disney Style website has a wonderful recipe for a Wreck-It-Ralph inspired sugar scrub that will leave you feeling blissfully content. You can find the recipe here.
8. Plan a trip to Disney – Winter doldrums getting you down? What better way to warm up then by planning your next Orlando getaway. Packages are currently available to book through until the end of 2018. We know just how to get you started. Read below to find out how you can get your FREE quote.
