Last night at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Disney faced some stormy weather but still made the most of a tricky situation. The sold-out event was set to start at 7 p.m., but just ten minutes before the festivities began, a thunderstorm rolled in, bringing heavy rain and lightning. While we checked the weather beforehand and saw the typical 30% chance of storms, the rain stuck around for most of the evening, causing widespread closures of outdoor attractions, character meet and greets, and even the parade.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather, the Cast Members kept spirits high, staying patient and upbeat even as many guests had to pivot their plans. During brief breaks in the storm, a few attractions reopened, but long wait times quickly followed. Despite the weather Disney did manage to set of the fireworks, but since we were inline to meet Minnie Mouse, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy during this time we were unable to view them to see if the show had to be modified in any way due to the weather.

Around 10:30 p.m., Disney stepped up with a generous gesture: a notification through the My Disney Experience app informed party attendees that their Halloween party tickets had been converted into one-day park hopper tickets, valid for one year. While Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a rain-or-shine event, Disney’s move to offer a park hopper ticket was a welcome surprise, showing their commitment to ensuring guests still have a magical experience—even when Florida’s unpredictable weather doesn’t cooperate!
