Celestial Park Shines Bright with Its First-Ever Epic Universe Holiday Décor

Celestial Park is officially sparkling for its first-ever holiday season, and Universal just pulled back the curtain on the incredible artistry bringing all that cosmic cheer to life. If you thought this world was magical already, wait until you see how the Epic Universe teams have layered in seasonal décor that feels like it was born right out of Celestian lore.

Planning started way back in 2019 — yes, before the park was even officially announced — and the result is a handcrafted holiday experience filled with custom ornaments, bespoke garland, and whimsical touches inspired by every corner of Celestial Park. Senior Scenic Manager Curtis Hopkins says their team’s level of detail is “mind-boggling,” and honestly, he’s not wrong. Nothing here is store-bought. Every ornament outside places like Pizza Moon or CelesTiki is unique, built specifically for this world.

Scenic designer Lindsey Ellis hand-drew many of the concepts seen throughout the land, pulling inspiration from Celestian artifacts, architecture, and the stories baked into the park’s theming. From golden palm fronds at CelesTiki to red plum blossoms at The Blue Dragon, she infused each storefront with seasonal touches that feel native to the environment.

And then there’s the installation team — the year-round “elves” like Mary Camacho and Jacquie Perry — who turn those drawings into real-world décor despite Florida’s unpredictable weather. Their team maintains, repairs, and enhances the pieces annually, so every season becomes more detailed than the last. According to Mary, each garland strand has its own backstory, and seeing guests admire the tiniest berries or ornaments feels like a personal victory.

This debut holiday season at Epic Universe sets a new bar for the park and, according to the team, will influence décor across the entire Universal Orlando Resort in the years ahead.
