Tron Lightcycle Run
Work on the new Tron coaster in Magic Kingdom has been ongoing for 4 years now. The pandemic caused some major delays but we’ve seen the attraction getting so close to being finished. Testing has been happening regularly and Disney shared the opening date will be sometime in the spring of 2023. We can’t wait for the ride to finally be completed!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom will permanently close on January 23, 2023, to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The attraction is being reimagined into a Tiana-themed ride. The work on the attraction will bring new music, new animatronics, and a new storyline. The new ride is scheduled to open in 2024.
Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
Construction has been happening quite a lot at Epcot lately. One attraction coming to life in the park is Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana. The new walkthrough attraction should open sometime in 2023 but we don’t have an exact opening date yet.
World Celebration
Also under construction at Epcot is a major portion of World Celebration. Disney is adding new gardens, CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza, and Dreamers Point. It looks like most of the work will be completed before the end of 2023.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ
The new Roundup Rodeo BBQ coming to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios was supposed to open this year. However, Disney has pushed back the opening date for the new table service location. Guests should be able to enjoy the new dining spot in the spring of 2023.
Summer House on the Lake
Over at Disney Springs, a new restaurant is taking shape! Summer House on the Lake, a new restaurant that will be located on the West Side of Disney Springs, will be opening to guests in 2023.
The Cake Bake Shop
Earlier this year the ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk closed to make way for a new bakery. The Cake Bake Shop is expected to open in 2023. Also at the BoardWalk, the gift shop is being turned into Carousel Coffee, which will serve coffee, tea, and pastries, including Joffrey’s Coffee options. No date has been announced for that opening, but it should be soon!
DVC Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort a new Disney Vacation Club building is under construction. Earlier this year, the Spirit of Aloha building was demolished to make way for this new DVC tower. There’s no set opening date for this building but construction will most likely last through 2023.
