Are there any kid-friendly attractions at Epcot?

Of all the Disney Theme parks I think Epcot is the best, definitely has the most to do and see, and will definitely tire out the strongest of little legs! Trying to decide if you should bring your child to Epcot center? I say yes! There are many things for children of all ages to see and rides that will amaze children and adults alike!

First lets look at The World Showcase. Every country has a kids spot where children can color a complimentary cardboard Duffy the Disney Bear on a stick which gets stamped with the a stamp representing the country they are in. While your child is coloring the cast member can answer any questions about the country you are in and conveniently these kid stops are located in stores so you can shop while they color! Each country in the World Showcase offers some form of entertainment. There is a boat ride in Mexico that is fun for younger and older children alike. China and Canada offer 360 degree movies which are stand only and the American Adventure has a live show and an Audio-Animatronic show.  Although I enjoy each show for different reason younger children and teenagers may not enjoy this as much. Besides the set time shows there is something going on in every country all day long, live performances and music. The World Showcase definitely has something for everyone and every child should experience this. **not discussed is the new Frozen exhibit as it is not yet open

There is also a “game” played through the World Showcase where guests become secret agents for Phineas and Ferb’s Agent P’s world showcase adventure, each guest gets to use a high tech secret agent device and receives clues throughout the World Showcase to defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Now onto Future World, this is where exciting things take place! Nemo, Soarin, the Disney characters and much more!

There are three thrill rides in Epcot’s future world

  • Mission: Space; a flight simulator which has a calmer or more intense side.  I wouldn’t really recommend this for younger children & the child must be 44″ or tall to ride; however there is an advance training lab play area for younger ones to play in while the older children enjoy the ride
  • Test Track ; here you “build” you perfect car and then get to road test your car, there is a speed test at the end of the ride and a slight drop.  This ride may be too intense for some children and you must be 44″ to ride. More adventurous children and teenagers will love this ride.
  • Soarin; on this ride you sit in a row of seat which get lifted over a omni screen and glide virtually over California. This is an amazing ride however if you have vertigo it may be difficult to enjoy.  Children of all ages can ride, some younger children may be afraid.

Other attractions in future world include:

  • Spaceship Earth; this is the large globe that is Epcot, inside is a slow moving ride that takes you into the past explaining how the world came to be up to the future that you specially design. There is nothing scary about this ride and all children should ride through it at least once
  • Living with the land – this is a slow moving ride that brings you through the gardening of Epcot, you will see fun fruits and veggies as well as some fish and a view of the Coral Reef restaurant. This ride is also great for kids of all ages!
  • The circle of life is a movie starting everybody’s favorite Timon and Pumba about the environment and living with the land.
  • Imagine Works is an interacting area that is good for all kids from preschool to teen-aged
  • Journey into imagination with Figment is a goofy slow moving dark ride (ride mostly in darkly lite areas), it has many bright colors and overall weirdness that kids love, the older children may be board.
  • Ellen’s Energy Adventure is another slow moving ride that tells the story behind electricity, there are some kind of scary scene young kids may be frightened by however this is a great place for a short nap!
  • The Seas with Nemo and friends in a slow moving dark ride that follows Nemo and friends through a real live aquarium, all kids and older kids will love this, its a fun for all type of ride!
  • Turtle talk with Crush is an interactive area where Crush interacts with the children in the audience, preschool, young children and teens alike will enjoy this
  • Innoventions has a few different areas in which you learn about weather, or create your own roller coaster or interact in a lab, this is a fun area indoors (which helps in the Florida heat, or rain) all kids will like this, maybe a little too much you may have to pull them away from here

There is also a character meet and greet here.  Usually Minnie, Goofy, Daisy and Pluto are here, you can take pictures and get autographs, of course children love this area.

Usually between future world with it’s common American food and all of the World Showcase with it authentic cuisine you can find something to eat for everyone. There is also an area called the Cool Spot where you can taste Coke’s from Around the world (Make sure everyone taste the Beverly!)

And don’t forget to stay until after dark when Illuminations takes place, this is a firework show that will amaze everyone in your party. It’s a great way to end a wonderful day!

With all the information given above I think all children would love visiting Epcot, but I’m really interested in what you think, will you be bringing your children to Epcot on your next visit?
