Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a special ticket event that takes place from the middle of September through October at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
As the name implies the part is not so scary, except for maybe the Villains, and therefore is great holiday fun for the whole family. Special entertainment to include Mickey’s Boo to You Parade, Happy HalloWishes Fireworks, Trick-or-treating, and special character meet and greets are offered in addition to special fall themed snacks.
No one age 14 years or older is permitted to dress in costumes in the Disney Parks, even at these parties. For those 13 and under, they may dress in costumes during the special Halloween events (and everyday), but there are some restrictions.
Disney specifically says, “For safety, please choose costumes that are not obstructive or offensive.” This request seems to be open to interruption, but I would stay away from costumes that include:
- Items that drag on the ground – such as long capes and sheets.
- Items that obstruct vision
These restrictions are for the safety and enjoyment of all guests. So enjoy the opportunity to get dressed up and even do some trick-or-treating around the park!

The party runs through the end October, so even though it’s coming up quick it’s not too late to book your last minute trip or to add a party ticket onto your already existing Disney World reservation if you’re going during the Halloween season.
