Best Times of Year to Visit Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa

There are multiple Disney theme parks and resorts around the world, but did you know that there is a Disney resort in Hawaii? If you are looking for a relaxing, stress-free vacation that still has the Disney touch, then you will need to plan a stay at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa on Oahu! While there is no bad time to visit Aulani, there are better times during the year. Let’s talk about those times!

May, September, and October are all great months for nice temperatures, cheaper airfare, and lower crowd levels. With Hawaiian temperatures typically in the 80s all year round there’s not a bad month to visit. However, the months I mentioned are commonly understood to be off-peak periods when discounts and travel bargains will typically be in your favour.

There are three main travel seasons in Hawaii that you’ll want to be aware of when planning your trip.

High Season

This may be a surprise to you, but Christmas time is not the best time to go to Aulani. Mid-December through Mid-April is considered the High-Season for Aulani. The last 2 weeks of December are some of the busiest dates of the year at the resort. I can’t blame anyone for wanting to celebrate the holidays in Hawaii though. If you do want to go during this time, you will still have a fantastic vacation! However, if you are looking for lower crowds and more affordable pricing try some of the off-peak dates instead.

Low Season

There are 2 sections of “low season” months for visiting Aulani: mid-April to mid-June and September to mid-December. You’ll usually find rates at Aulani to be a bit more affordable during these times of the year as well as flights.

Summer Season

For families considering going during the Summer months when kids are out of school, I’ve got good news. This “technically” isn’t considered the busy season at Aulani! Though you may not get the bargains found during the low season, crowds aren’t nearly as high as you’d think.
