We’re celebrating Disney’s World Princess Week, where we will be highlighting a different Disney Princess each day. Today, we are honoring Princess Tiana from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog.”
In celebration of World Princess Week, Disney shared with us the latest on the upcoming Splash Mountain retheme inspired by “The Princess and the Frog.” Hear from Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Animation Studios during their visit to New Orleans where the story began!
Here are the details from Disney:
Tiana is an ambitious and resilient woman, who proves that success comes through a connection to her family and community and has learned to never lose sight of what’s really important – giving back to others through great food and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.

As seen in this latest rendering of the attraction, the story will take place after the final kiss as Naveen and Louis join Tiana on her latest adventure, hosting a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration where everyone is welcome – during which some original music inspired by songs from the film will bring guests into the story. Tiana is leading the way and fans will be able to encounter old friends and make new ones along the way as well!
Disney Cruise Line
The Disney Wonder will return to Tiana’s hometown of New Orleans in February 2022 for four- and six-night Western Caribbean getaways. On board this gorgeous ship, Disney Cruise Line is really “gonna take you there!” at two unique venues inspired by Tiana’s story:
Fans of the film will not want to miss Tiana’s Place restaurant, the first immersive manifestation of Tiana’s dream come true. You’ll be treated to a celebration of New Orleans-inspired dining and entertainment with a menu that draws inspiration from the flavors and ingredients of the Louisiana bayou. Tap your toes to the beat of live jazz, swing and blues, setting the tone for the French Quarter supper club atmosphere. After dinner, head over to French Quarter Lounge, where you can sip a New Orleans-themed specialty drink and dance the night away! It also offers family activities, trivia, workshops, crafts and music that bring the bayou spirit of family and fun to life.
The newest member of Disney’s fleet, the Disney Wish, sets sail in summer of 2022. Guests on board who are looking for a New Orleans-inspired good time can go down to The Bayou, an informal lounge themed to “The Princess and the Frog.” This centrally located venue will offer creative cocktails, specialty coffees and signature beignets in a lively, social atmosphere complete with live entertainment and musical performances.
Walt Disney World Resort
Starting today, there will be a new Tiana-themed playground available during the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. It’s an awesome offering guests can enjoy during the kick-off of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” which begins Oct. 1. Those of you with a sweet tooth will want to get your hands on a Tiana Petit Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs: dark chocolate chiffon cake, raspberry mousse, raspberry pâte fruit, and chocolate crisp pearls. Yum! Then, you can wave hello to Tiana in the cavalcades at Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll also want to catch a nighttime viewing of “The Princess and the Frog” at Walt Disney World Resort Movies Under the Stars. Talk about a perfect evening!
