transportation options

With the very recent termination of Disney’s Magical Express shuttle service, many Disney vacationers are wondering what their new transportation options are. luckily, guests still have multiple options on how to get from the Orlando airport to Disney World, and of course back to the airport from Disney World. Although none of the options are free, they are convenient and will provide the same type of service Magical Express provided.

Private Ground Transportation

Private ground transportation can now be added to your Disney vacation package! There are multiple options available, including vans, SUVs, sedans, executive limousines, and stretch limousines. This private and direct ground transportation can be booked up to five days prior to arrival. Both one-way and round-trip fares are available. This service can be added to a Disney vacation package online, or by calling the Disney Reservation Center.

Mears Connect

One of the most popular transportation options is Mears Connect, which has basically replaced Disney’s Magical Express- even using some of the exact same busses (minus the Disney logo). Mears Connect announced immediately that they would be offering the same shuttle service, but at a cost. Prices for Mears Connect services are $16 for adults one-way and $13.50 for children one-way or $32 for adults round trip and $27 for children round trip. There is also a premium service available that costs $250 for up to 4 passengers and $55 for each additional passenger.

The Sunshine Flyer

The Sunshine Flyer is sure to be one of the most popular transportation options when it officially starts offering shuttle services on February 1st, 2022. The Sunshine Flyer will offer nearly identical services to Mears Connect with a competitive (almost identical) price point. The prices for these services will be $17 per adult one-way and $12.50 per child one-way with round trip options for $34 per adult and $25 per child.

Taxi or Ride share

Of course, another alternative to Disney’s Magical Express is a traditional Taxi or a ride share service using an app such as Uber or Lyft. Click here to compare Uber or Lyft prices to the other shuttle service prices.

Car Rental

Of course, renting a car is always one of the transportation options available to any Disney traveler, but travelers should take into consideration the parking fees at resorts and parks if they choose this option.

Although Magical Express is a thing of the past, we still have plenty of transportation options available.
