2022 has just begun and it’s already proving to be a great year for new and exciting things coming to Disney! Of course, we have all of the continued 50th-anniversary celebrations happening, we saw Typhoon Lagoon recently reopen, and there is so much more to look forward to! Here are some really exciting new things headed to Disney this year!
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade
This popular 12-minute parade that celebrates the tales of Fantasyland is returning in early 2022! The floats, dancers, and original music winds their way through Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. Be sure to check Disney’s Entertainment schedule for showtimes.
Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade
A new cavalcade will be coming to Disney in early 2022! This cavalcade will feature the most characters of any cavalcade, including:
- Nick and Judy from Zootopia
- Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book
- Jose Carioca and Panchito from The Three Caballeros
- Miguel from Coco
- Merida from Brave
- Moana from Moana
- The Incredibles
Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire
Live entertainment is returning to the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage with this newly enhanced show! The show will feature sequences inspired by Tangled, Frozen, and Princess and the Frog, and also include a brand new opening and finale with Mickey Mouse and Friends. This show is expected to debut in early 2022!
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
The highly anticipated “Star Wars hotel” is finally taking off on its maiden voyage on March 1, 2022! Unlike other resorts, this is truly an immersive experience and requires a 2-night stay. Guests will stay in cruise-like stateroom cabins and enjoy an all-inclusive experience filled with special entertainment and experiences.
Fantasmic!
One of the things coming to Disney we are all so excited about is the return of Fantasmic! to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park. Fantasmic! is truly a nighttime spectacular and features over 50 live actors, lasers, fireworks, lights, and water animation! The show has also been updated, and we can expect to see at least one all-new sequence!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
This exciting and thrilling new rollercoaster coming to Disney is set to debut in summer 2022 at Disney’s EPCOT park! This indoor rollercoaster will be one of the largest of its kind and features 360-degree rotating ride vehicles! This attraction is highly anticipated and will likely become one of the most popular attractions at Disney world!
