We Kicked Off Christmas Week with Grinchmas Magic at Islands of Adventure
We kicked off Christmas week in true Who-ville fashion by heading to Grinchmas at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and it was the perfect way to jump straight into the holiday spirit. From festive food to fuzzy green mischief, the day felt like a full-on Dr. Seuss Christmas celebration from start to finish.

Our morning began with the Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast, and this is an experience that continues to impress year after year. The upscale brunch menu was genuinely excellent, with standout dishes like the Who-landaise Smoked Brisket Sandwich, which delivered rich, savory flavors paired with crispy potatoes and that indulgent hollandaise. The Mrs. Toffee Apple Dapple Clucker Crunch Chicken Sandwich brought the sweet and savory balance with apple-forward notes and crunchy texture, making it another easy favorite. Dessert lovers should not skip the Cinn-a Who Welcome Wheel, a warm cinnamon roll situation that absolutely lives up to the hype.

Of course, the highlight of the breakfast was meeting the Grinch himself. The interaction was playful, sarcastic, and perfectly on brand, making it a moment we always look forward to. That appreciation doubled later in the day when we walked past the standard Grinch meet-and-greet area in Seuss Landing and saw the posted wait time sitting at a staggering 150 minutes. Having that relaxed breakfast experience felt like a holiday miracle.

Next up was The Grinchmas™ Who-liday Spectacular, a live stage show that remains one of Universal’s strongest seasonal offerings. Featuring music recorded by Mannheim Steamroller, the show blends classic storytelling with humor, heart, and plenty of energy. While the overall structure stays consistent each year, it is always fun to see how the actors portraying the Grinch and the Narrator bring their own personalities and comedic timing to the roles, making each season feel just a little different.

New this year, the Who-Ville tree lot added an extra layer of charm to the celebration. The area features Christmas trees themed to favorite Dr. Seuss stories, including The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and The Grinch. It was a great spot to slow down, explore, and appreciate the details that make Seuss Landing such a visually rich land during the holidays.

After soaking in the decorations throughout Seuss Landing, we wrapped up our day by hopping over to Universal Studios Florida via the Hogwarts Express to check out the Holiday Tribute Store. While it is not officially part of the Who-lidays festivities, it remains a must-do every Christmas season. This year’s nutcracker theme is packed with personality, from the world’s smallest nutcracker to a suspiciously ominous one displayed with warning signs reminiscent of horror movie props, plus hundreds more scattered throughout the store that make wandering around half the fun.
