How to Celebrate Halfway to Halloween at Home!
Tomorrow, April 28, marks Halfway to Halloween! Disney will be celebrating with some spooktacular announcements. We’ve put together some ways that you can also celebrate Halfway to Halloween while at home!
This Hocus Pocus-inspired table scape is filled with easy DIYs to add some wickedly fun details to your party décor. Start by gathering trinkets from around the house, like a magnifying glass, coins, glass bottles & jars, moss, hard-covered books, etc.. Cover the hardcovered books in black construction paper sheets, so they fit in with the theme.
Fill the glass jars and bottles with colored water, tea leaves, or even salt colored with food coloring to give the look of potion ingredients. You can use books or boxes under your tablecloth to offer some height and interest to your table décor. A bunch of mismatched candlesticks add to the effect.
If you want to add some more magical effects to your party, try dry ice or reuse souvenir glow cubes from your latest trip to a Disney destination.
Don’t forget to add a few Hidden Mickeys to your table scape, maybe by grouping some coins or plates, in your floral arrangement, or even simply drawing on your candlesticks with a permanent marker.
What’s a party without snacks! We recommend trying these Disney Parks Blog favorites for your Halfway to Halloween festivities:
- A Round-up of All-things Pumpkin
- Scary-Good Snacks
- A Nightmare Before Christmas Treat Board that will be sure to impress
- Recipes to help you conjure up magic at home
Challenge your crew to a Halloween-themed Disney Family Game Night, then download these easy-to-create charades cards, perfectly themed for your Hocus Pocus-inspired tablescape, to keep the fun going.
To add some tunes to your festive fun, check out the Disney Music Group Halloween Playlist.
Then, grab your favorite Halloween treats and settle in for some wickedly good movies, series, specials and more on Disney+. These 5 titles are sure to put you in the scary spirit:
- “Hocus Pocus”
- “Muppets Haunted Mansion”
- “The Nightmare Before Christmas”
And if you’re looking for a spooky book to read to celebrate on this ghoulish holiday, check out ‘Hocus Pocus & the All-New Sequel’ where twenty-five years after Max Dennison accidentally releases a coven of witches, the Sanderson Sisters, his seventeen-year-old daughter, Poppy, finds herself face-to-face with the Sanderson sisters in all their sinister glory.
