Is Club Level worth it at Walt Disney World? The short answer to this question, in my opinion, is yes! The level of service and additional amenities, such as the club level lounge, make this room category very appealing! Take a look at why it may be worth it for you to consider this as an option on your next vacation!
What is Club Level?
Before I give you some reasons why a Club Level room is worth it, let’s talk about what it means to stay Club Level at the Walt Disney World Resort.
What Resorts Offer Club Level Rooms?
Club level is a room category that offers additional perks to guests at the Walt Disney World Resort. This room category is only available at the Deluxe Resorts. Most of these resorts have one club level lounge but some of them have two.
Why is Club Level Worth It?
There are several benefits to staying club level. One of the best benefits to staying club level is the club level lounge. This lounge features food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, throughout the day. The offerings change depending on the time of day and guests have unlimited access when the lounge is open.
The benefit that may be most useful, especially with some of the upcoming changes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is the ability to purchase additional FastPass+ options. There are some stipulations to doing so but as you can imagine, this is a huge advantage for guests looking for those hard-to-get FastPasses and experience the most popular attractions.
Let’s take a closer look at how this works.
- The cost to purchase these additional FastPass+ is $50/person, with a minimum of 3 days purchased
- If you are using a Park Hopper ticket, you can use these FastPasses in different parks on the same day
- These FastPasses can be booked 90 days prior, instead of 60 days prior to check-in
- There are no tier restrictions so you may choose any attractions that you would like but not the same one more than once
In case you have not heard the news, there are reportedly big changes coming to the FastPass+ tiers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Once Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens on August 29, 2019, having the ability to purchase extra FastPasses, without tier restrictions, may be extremely valuable!
The other benefit of staying club level that may be useful to guests is called Signature Services. This benefit allows guests to have contact with cast members, specific to their resort, who can help with things such as tours, room requests, and more. Signature Services can also help with overall itinerary planning.
However, Signature Services does not have special access to advanced dining reservations or FastPass+ options. They are not able to get anything that is already showing as unavailable. This office also does not open until 9:00 am EST. Therefore, if you are looking for those hard-to-get dining reservations or FastPasses, it is definitely in your best interest to either use your travel agent to book them or do so yourself as soon as your booking window opens.
Some additional perks of staying club level include upgraded toiletries with robes and slippers, turndown service complete with chocolates left on the pillow and secure access. Guests staying club level can only access their floor or building by using their Magic Bands.
You may be thinking to yourself “there is no way that I am paying the extra money to stay club level”. However, if you consider the advantages and how your family likes to vacation, it may be worth the extra cost up front to experience the benefits. It’s very convenient to walk down the hall throughout the day and grab breakfast, a snack or some heavy appetizer-type options. This is especially the case if you plan to enjoy the resort amenities. In addition, some of the club level lounges include viewing of the fireworks at the parks, such as Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
So, is club level worth it? If you want to enjoy great service, great food and drinks and more, including access to more FastPasses, then absolutely!
