Lighthouse Point opens Summer 2024
Created in close collaboration with local artists and advisors, the vibrant island retreat at Lighthouse Point will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.
At Lighthouse Point, families will enjoy a day of fun in the sun as they relax on pristine beaches, embark on active adventures and discover the magic of Bahamian storytelling alongside favorite Disney characters. Much like Disney’s cruise ships and private island of Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will offer activities and areas for every age group.
Families can relax and play along white sandy beaches and turquoise waters at the expansive family beach on the east side of the island, which will be centrally located near market-style dining, recreation and other amenities.
A Bahamian art and culture pavilion featuring special programs and local artists will provide visitors to Lighthouse Point opportunities to learn and celebrate the traditions and natural beauty of The Bahamas.
A brightly-colored, interactive family water play area will include two slides, water drums, fountains and more, along with a dedicated space for toddlers.
North of the family area will be an adult-exclusive beach — a glorious stretch of sun-drenched serenity complete with a dedicated dining area for convenient access to food and drinks throughout the day, plus six private cabanas available by reservation.
Children ages 3 to 12 will splash and play at a themed kids’ club under the care of highly-trained Disney Cruise Line counselors. It will include a splash pad inspired by favorite undersea creatures from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Little Mermaid,” plenty of shade and a dedicated dining area.
Set away from the activity of the main family area, a peaceful beach along the southwestern shore will be lined with 20 premium family cabanas available to rent, including four double cabanas that accommodate larger groups and offer massage services.
“Double Dip” on Sailings Stopping at Castaway Cay & Lighthouse Point
If you love getting to experience Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, and can’t wait to discover all Lighthouse Point has to offer, you might want to sail on a cruise that has a “double dip”! There are multiple sailings available this year that will visit both private destinations along with several in 2025.
Some of the sailings are even holiday cruises! You can celebrate Halloween on the High Seas or a Very Merrytime sailing along with visiting both of Disney’s private destinations.
Disney Treasure Sails December 2024
Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Treasure, will embark on its maiden voyage, a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, on Dec. 21, 2024, followed by an inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Throughout the Disney Treasure, timeless Disney characters and their unforgettable stories of exploration will inspire reimagined spaces.
The Grand Hall will embody the ship’s theme of adventure, with statues and décor that call on the gilded palace and wonder of Agrabah from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic tale, “Aladdin.” The space will serve as the ship’s most prominent gathering space and will offer its own dedicated entertainment moments and surprises.
Guests will experience Plaza de Coco, the first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film, “Coco.” This theater-in-the-round entertainment venue will feature a central stage surrounded by dining tables, with performances and show effects that will spread throughout the room.
For the first time ever, the nostalgia and lore from beloved theme park attractions will come to Disney Cruise Line with a unique lineup of all-new Disney Parks-inspired venues aboard the Disney Treasure.
Skipper Society, a themed lounge near the Grand Hall, will bring Disney Parks’ iconic Jungle Cruise attraction to sea for the first time. But instead of visiting the backside of water, the venue’s natural colorways and camp-style furnishings will pair with sly tributes to the trusty, dry-witted skippers for an elevated, playful atmosphere.
Periscope Pub will become Disney Cruise Line’s first venue inspired by the spellbinding adventure of Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” and the celebrated Disney Parks attraction that was open at Walt Disney World from 1971 to 1994. The design of the submarine-style interiors will call upon 19th century steampunk influences with polished metals and industrial touches.
Those are just a few of the exciting offerings coming to the new Disney Treasure!
