For those travelling with slightly larger families of 5 or more, finding a room at a Walt Disney World can be a bit of a crash course in occupancy. Though not all of the resorts on Disney property offer rooms that will accommodate a larger household, there are plenty of fantastic options available if you if know where to find them. To help you with your planning process here’s a rundown of resorts offering rooms that can accommodate families of five and larger.
Value Resorts:
Disney’s All Star Music Resort- Though the standard rooms at Disney’s All Star Music only offer two double beds and sleep four, they do offer Family Suites. At 520 sq. ft, the suites are slightly more costly but will comfortably sleep a family of 6 and feature 1 queen bed, 1 twin-sized sleeper chair, 1 double-sized sleeper sofa and 1 twin-sized sleeper ottoman. The room also features a kitchenette There are also 2-bathrooms. Non-discounted prices start at $230 a night.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – This Value offers fun-filled 565 sq ft. family suites that are themed after different Disney and Pixar films. Guests can choose from The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Cars themed sections. Each of the suites can sleep families of up to six and include 1 queen bed, one double-sized table bed, and one double-sized pullout sofa bed. There are also two bathrooms and a kitchenette. Costs start at $300 during off-peak with the Finding Nemo Suites being the most expensive due to close proximity to the pools.
Moderate Resorts:
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – This Moderate Resort offers standard rooms that can sleep up to 5 guests. These rooms feature 2 queen-sized beds as well one child-sized pull-down bed. The pull-downs are not suitable for older kids but are a nice option for families with smaller children. Standard rooms are roughly 300 sq ft. and start at around $200 a night off-peak.
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside – Similar to the Caribbean Beach Resort, rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of this resort also features 2 queen-sized beds with the child-sized pull out bed option. Rates at Port Orleans are comparable to Caribbean Beach and will usually start around $200 per night during off-peak periods for rooms that come it at about 314 sq. ft.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Though the standard rooms at Coronado only sleep families of four, they do offer a few suite options for those that want to splurge a bit. Junior Suites feature 2 queen beds and 1 queen-sized sleeper sofa, come in at about 95o sq ft. and will set guests back about $450 a night. There’s also Casitas Executive Suites coming at over 1500 sq ft and featuring 2 queen beds and 1 king bed at a cost of over $1000 a night or 1 Bedroom Suites coming it at around 950 sq ft with 2 queen beds and 1 queen-sized sleeper sofa coming in at around $800 a night.
The Cabins At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground – These free-standing cabins are a nice option for families who want to rough it Disney -style. Each cabin is around 500 sq ft., features a full-sized kitchen, a queen bed, bunk beds and a double-sized sleeper sofa. Prices for the cabins start at around $320 a night non-discounted.
Deluxe Resorts:
Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club: Both of these resorts offer standard room options that will accommodate families of 5. A typical standard room features 2 queen-size beds, 1 day bed and comes in at 400 sq ft. There are also concierge level rooms with the same configuration as well as 2-bedroom suites that sleep families of up to 7. The standard rooms average between $400-$500 a night depending on the view, club level between $600-$800 a night and suites are $1500 and above non-discounted.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort: This monorail resort offers both Tower (Main Bldg) and Garden Wing rooms that have 2 queen beds and 1 daybed. Rooms average around 440 sq ft and will set guests back about $450- $650 a night non-discounted and depending on the view. Club level rooms are also available from $700-$850 a night and there are a handful of suites that sleep 5-8 guests and range in price from $1000 – $1500 a night.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn: Across the pond from Beach and Yacht Club, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn also has standard rooms featuring 2-queen beds and 1 daybed that can accommodate up to 5 guests and will set visitors back about $450 – $600 a night non-discounted for rooms about 434 sq. ft. There are also Club Level rooms available with prices between $700- 800 per night.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: The Polynesian has undergone a recent renovation and most rooms now can comfortably accommodate families of 5 with 2 queen beds, 1 day bed and rooms that come in at about 400 sq ft. Non-discounted rates usually come in around $500- $700 a night. Club level rooms are also available from $700 -$900 a night as well as 1-bedroom suites for $1000+
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa: Larger families looking for high-end accommodation will find that most Grand Floridian rooms accommodate families of 5. The standard rooms are around 45o sq ft and will consist of either 2 double beds and a daybed or 1 king bed, 1 double sofa bed and a daybed. These rooms range in prices from $600- $800 a night non-discounted. Club level access is also available between $800 – $1,500 as are 1 and 2 bedroom suites for $1500+ a night.
Deluxe Villa Resorts:
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort: This newly renovated property offers studios that sleep up to 5 adults. They come in at 356 sq ft. and feature 1 queen bed, 1 double sleeper sofa and 1 twin pull-down bed. Another option would be a 2-bedroom villa which has a full kitchen and living room, 2 bathrooms, sleeps up to 8 adults and are 1,080 sq feet. Studios start at around $400 a night and 2-bedrooms start at $800.
Animal Kingdom Villas (Jambo House and Kidani Village) – Animal Kingdom has two villa properties each with 1 bedroom villas that feature 1 king bed, 1 queen-sized sleeper sofa and 1 twin-sized sleeper chair. One bedrooms feature kitchen and living rooms, and are around 700 sq ft. with costs starting around $580. The 2-bedroom villas can sleep up to 8 adults a feature 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 1 queen sized sleeper, and 1 twin size sleeper. Two bedrooms are about 1100 sq ft. and start at about $900 non-discounted.
Disney’s Boardwalk Villas – The property offers deluxe studios that sleep up to 5 with 1 queen bed, 1 double sleeper sofa and 1 bunk-sized pull-down bed. They are 412 sq ft and prices per night and start at $400. In addition, there are 2 bedrooms available that can sleep up to 9 adults and feature a full kitchen, 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 queen size sleeper sofa, 1 double-size sleeper sofa, and 1 bunk size pull down bed. At 1,226 sq ft. prices start at around $850 per night.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Bay Lake Tower has 1 bedroom villas that feature 1 king bed and 1 queen-size sleeper sofa, 1 twin-size sleeper chair as well as a full kitchen and living area. The villas are 772 sq ft and start at around $650 non-discounted. Two bedroom villas are also available for groups of up to 9 adults and feature 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 1 queen-size sleeper sofa and 1 twin-size sleeper chair. These rooms have a full kitchen, living area and 2 bathrooms and are 1080 sq ft. Prices start at $1000
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Both the deluxe studios and the 1 bedroom villas at the Grand Floridian sleep families of 5. The studios offer a queen-sized bed, double-size sleeper sofa, and bunk-sized pull-down bed. The 1 bedrooms offer a full kitchen, king-sized bed, queen-size sleeper sofa and bunk-size pull-down bed in living room. The studios are 375 sq ft and the 1 bedrooms are 844 sq ft. Costs run from $800 up to $1200 depending on location. For $1000+ the 2-bedroom villas can accommodate up to 9 guests and feature 1 king bed and 1 queen bed and 2 queen-size sleeper sofas, 2 twin-size pull-down beds and come it at a whopping 1,232 sq ft.
