We were able to check out the Breakfast With the Grinch over the weekend and have our detailed review ready for you!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially when you’re having Breakfast with the Grinch at Universal Orlando Resort! Universal Orlando has fully embraced the concept of Grinchmas once again this year, with interactions and events featuring the king of Stink, Stank, Stunk at the top of many families’ must-do lists. My family and I had the joy of experiencing the Grinch Character Breakfast, and I’m thrilled to share our detailed review with you.

Upon registering for the breakfast, we received a QR code, which was our golden ticket to this festive feast. Be sure to read this email closely, as it states this code allows you to print your tickets using the QR code before entering the park. You will need these tickets to give to your server at the restaurant, so be sure to print them when you arrive at the park-It saves a lot of hassle!
For those with early breakfast reservations, there’s a special treat – a dedicated entrance just to the left of the main Islands of Adventure gate. This exclusive entry made us feel like VIPs and set the tone for the magical experience ahead. Getting your tickets printed head of time is especially important if you have early morning reservations, as you won’t be able to enter the park if you do not have your breakfast tickets printed. If you have reservations before the park opens, be sure to keep an eye out for the signs directing you to the entrance for the breakfast.
This year, the breakfast is hosted at Confisco Grille. The Grille was appointed in a variety of festive décor, but the theming was not as immersive as when the breakfast was held at Circus McGurkus Cafe. We did comment the theming was a bit more fitting of interaction with the Grinch, as the general vibe and theming of Confisco fit in with the Grinch’s home base of Mount Crumpit. It was also MUCH easter navigating around Suess Landing this year without the long line of folks trying to check in for the character breakfast!
Note the breakfast format is not a buffet this year. Each diner gets to choose one entrée from a selection of delightful options. To add to this, the table receives an assortment of pastries and fresh fruit to share, along with cookies for dessert – a sweet end to a delightful meal!
We were able to try the Cindy-Lou waffles, the Mayor Augustus’ Biscuits and Gravy, and the Grinch’s Green Eggs and Ham. The waffles were a bit overly crispy, but still tasty. The biscuits were a bit on the dry side, however, the sausage gravy was very good, the eggs were fluffy, and the potatoes were VERY good. The Green Eggs and Ham were good, and what you would expect from scrambled eggs with a side of ham for breakfast.
While waiting for our food, we had a fun time interacting with the Who’s and even experienced The Grinch storming through the restaurant!
We REALLY enjoyed the plate of fruit, muffins, and croissants that were brought out first. The pastries were very fresh and tasty, and the fruit was incredibly flavorful. We were quite full by the time the cookies came, but still managed to enjoy them. The Max cookies were a bit on the dry side, but very good dipped in coffee! The red velvet hearts and the green sugar cookies were both very tasty. Our server offered up some cookie bags to take our snacks with us, since we were not able to finish them all at the end of our meal.
When we finished up our breakfast, it was time to meet The Grinch! We were handed this fun signature card which served as our ticket to enter the meet-and-greet queue (you are able to keep this as a souvenir from the event, the team members just ask to see it to ensure you are lining up after your meal is completed). The area was a separate room adjacent to the dining room, where each family was afforded some one-on-one time with The Grinch!
The meet and greet area was well-appointed, and the spacing between families was great. Even with a bit of a line when we walked over to the queue, we waited less than 10 minutes to meet The Grinch (and this included a break for the Grinch to go feed Max).

The meet and greet was truly the highlight of the event, and well worth the price of entry. We brought an Onion to give to the Grinch, which he was incredibly excited to get (as you can see from the video). Our experience was not rushed, and we had great interaction with him! Considering the line for the standard meet and greet was well over 2 hours when we left our morning breakfast, we were super happy with the event and would gladly do it again!
Overall we really enjoyed Breakfast with the Grinch this year, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun holiday event. The food is pretty standard breakfast fare (and it is a bit of a bummer it is not a buffet this year), but the logistics change for format, location, and the method of the meet-and-greet was clearly needed given the wait for check-in last year completely jamming up Suess Landing. The flow of the breakfast was great, and there was minimal waiting throughout the entire event. Be sure to print those tickets at park entry and get ready for a very memorable experience!
