Can You Send a Package In Advance to A Disney World Resort?

Q: Can I mail a box to my Walt Disney World resort and have it waiting for me when I arrive?

A: Yes. Whether it’s shipping Christmas gifts, snacks, or even diapers, many families traveling to Disney close to the holidays (especially those with larger families or that are flying) may find that it is more cost-effective to ship items down to the resort rather than lugging them with you.

Thankfully, Disney World is pretty flexible when it comes to mailing items to your resort in advance. Walt Disney World Resorts do have a $6.00 package handling fee which may be charged to your room at the resort’s discretion.

Whether you’re placing your order through Garden Grocer, Amazon, Amazon Prime Pantry or sending a package from home, it’s important to make sure that your boxes are also clearly labeled. When addressed, be sure to include a variation on the following:

Name of LEAD Guest on Reservation
Arrival Date
Name of Resort
Address
City, State and Zip

If shipping from home, Disney World also suggests that you write the word “GUEST” large and clear either on the address label next to your name or on the box (I usually do this in several places) so they are able to pass it on to Bell Services for delivery to your room.

As a safety measure, please avoid putting your confirmation number on the packaging. It isn’t needed. I also find that it helps to let the resort know via Disney Guest Services at 407.939.5277 or through your travel agent that a package is on its way. In addition, consider using a package delivery company like UPS or FedEx which will allow you to keep tabs on your package’s progress. I would, however, stay away from the US post office or allow yourself a wide delivery window as it takes much longer to ship using this method. I’ve been told that this is due largely to the way that mail is sent to a centralized Disney sorting office before being redistributed to each of the different resorts.
