It has been a year since Disney World temporarily closed down operations due to the Covid pandemic. We were all so happy to see Disney World reopen in July. Upon reopening, Disney enacted enhanced safety and health measures. This meant temporarily suspending some experiences. We all know and love Disney for the completely immersive feel of the parks, so many of us are missing these experiences. We really can’t wait for these experiences to return to Disney!
Fireworks and Nighttime Shows- Fireworks and nighttime shows are definitely at the top of the list! Nothing beats Disney’s fireworks! All four Disney World theme parks put on their own unique nighttime show. These shows are all greatly missed. We can’t wait to see the sky lit up with Disney fireworks again!
Up Close Character Meets- While Disney is doing a great job of making characters visible, the socially distanced meets are just not the same. We can’t wait until the day we are allowed to hug our favorite character again! Character meals are still fun, but just not as personal as they used to be due to social distancing requirements.
Live Musicals and Shows- The live shows and musicals are also greatly missed! We can’t wait for fun shows like Finding Nemo and Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage to come back! More experiences that have been temporarily suspended include the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Jedi Training- Trials of the Temple. These shows and attractions really add to the entire Disney experience. We do have some exciting news regarding shows- Animal Kingdom’s Festival of the Lion King is set to return this summer!
Large Parades- Large parades are also missed by Disney guests. Disney is keeping the magic alive with Character Cavalcades, but nothing beats the big parades! We especially miss the Festival of Fantasy Parade!
The Special Ticketed Parties and Events- It was so tough to see our favorite ticketed events canceled this year! Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party, Micky’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Villian’s After Hours were all canceled. We can’t wait to see our favorite events return! We also miss the fun fireworks dessert parties that were once offered at each park.
Attraction Pre-Shows- While not all attraction pre-shows have been temporarily suspended, some have. The pre-shows I miss the most are the stretching room scene in the Haunted Mansion and the pre-show to the Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror. The pre-shows are such a part of the attraction to many Disney guests and we hate seeing our beloved favorite attractions being altered in any way. I can’t wait for the attractions to return to “normal”.
While we are so lucky that Disney World is open to guests, we still really can’t wait for these experiences to return!
