What can you do for Free at Disney World?
Taking a Disney vacation can get quite expensive. Hotel, park tickets, food, souvenirs, etc… it all adds up! So, what can you do for free at Disney World? You just might be surprised at how many free things there are to do at Walt Disney World Resort!

Visit Disney Springs
Walt Disney World’s shopping and entertainment district, Disney Springs, is completely free! With over 100 shops, over 60 dining locations, and multiple activities, you’re sure to have a great time at Disney Springs. Now, it is not free to shop or eat at the locations, but there are some free activities! You can build your own LEGO designs at the LEGO Store, check out vibrant art displays at Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression, and enjoy live music throughout the district. Self-parking is free as well!
Resort Transportation
All of Disney World’s transportation is complimentary. Whether you are traveling to the parks or want to travel around the resort hotels, you can find multiple free options to get you there. The most common Disney transportation is the buses but you can also take a monorail, boat, or Skyliner!
Resort Hop
Speaking of traveling around the resort hotels, did you know you can visit any Disney World hotel even if you aren’t staying there? Resort hopping is a fun and free activity! Explore the different Disney hotels and experience the unique offerings each one has. This is especially fun during the holidays when select deluxe resorts go all out with decorations!
Disney’s BoardWalk
You can visit Disney’s BoardWalk at any time! Disney’s BoardWalk features live street performers, nighttime entertainment, shopping, and dining locations. You can also park at the resort for a few hours for free while you explore all it has to offer. You can also get a great view of the Epcot fireworks from the BoardWalk!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Did you know you can see animals outside of Disney’s Animal Kingdom? There are multiple viewing spots at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and it’s completely free! Walk around the common areas of the resort and you’re sure to see some majestic animals.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
At the back of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you can witness a geyser erupting! Similar to Old Faithful, but more reliable, this geyser goes off every hour on the hour from 7 am to 10 pm. You can also explore the beautiful natural backwoods of Florida at the resort. Take a stroll on the pathways around the resort and enjoy the nature and wildlife.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
While you are resort hopping, make sure to stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and check out the beautiful butterfly garden! This colorful garden is located on the backside of the lobby near the pool and lake.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
If you’d like to enjoy some fireworks without having to pay for a park ticket, head over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You can have a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach at the resort. You’ll even hear the music from the fireworks show!
Electric Water Pageant
Another great show you can watch for free is the Electric Water Pageant. This free water parade features whimsical sea creatures sailing across the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can see the pageant from any of the Magic Kingdom Resorts:

Movies Under the Stars
Looking for a fun, free, activity in the evenings? Many of the resort hotels offer “Movies Under the Stars”. Cozy up for a favorite Disney film shown outside in the fresh evening air. Whether you’re sitting poolside or surrounded by Floridian woodlands, enjoy relaxing evening entertainment that’s fun for the whole family!
Search for Hidden Mickeys
If you enjoy scavenger hunts, you can do this one for free! There are hidden Mickeys all over the Walt Disney World Resort. At the parks, the hotels, etc. Keep an eye out as you are enjoying the resort, or you can purchase a book all about the Hidden Mickeys.
Pin Trading
Getting pins for free at Disney World? Yep! I never thought much about pin trading at Walt Disney World but now my kids LOVE it! The best part is that it’s completely free. Bring your pins to the parks and keep an eye out for pin trading spots. Cast Members will have a display of available pins that you can trade for.
Become a Wilderness Explorer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom you can follow in the footsteps of Russell from the Disney·Pixar film Up as you earn adventure badges around the park. Self-guided activities range from animal observation to learning important wilderness skills. Collect over 25 badges and earn the right to echo the Wilderness Explorer call: Caw! Caw! Roar!
Club Cool in Epcot
Need a drink but don’t want to spend anything? Head over to Club Cool in Epcot! You can try different Coca-Cola products from around the world for free! Make sure you try the Beverly while you’re there (wink wink).
Concerts at Epcot
If you are visiting Epcot during any of the festivals the park hosts, you can enjoy free concerts! Enjoy performances from musicians like Boyz II Men, Air Supply, Sugar Ray, and Kenny G.
