When Does Christmas Come Down at Disney World?

The holidays are a magical time at Walt Disney World with the parks and resorts all decked out! So, when does Christmas come down at the parks and resorts? Many guests visiting this time of year wonder how long they will get to enjoy the decorations.

The parks at Walt Disney World are filled with magical holiday decorations starting in early November. Almost overnight the parks transform from Halloween to Christmas. Massive Christmas trees, garland, wreaths, and other decorations adorn the parks. Decorations don’t all go up at once, however, and it can take days for all of them to appear.

Just like the installation process, the removal process can take days. You can expect the decorations to begin to come down the first Monday after New Year’s. Since New Year’s Day is a Sunday this year, it’s more likely the decorations will come down the next week. Decorations don’t come down all at once either. It varies what decorations come down in what order.

If you will be visiting Walt Disney World in the next couple of weeks, you can expect to still see Christmas decorations. Be sure to visit the resort hotels as well since they have some wonderful holiday decorations as well!
