Free dining always causes lots of chatter in the Disney traveler world! Every year around this time all different people put out their opinions on when they think that Disney will announce their fall free dining promotion. So when will Disney release the free dining discount for fall 2019?? Let’s talk about it!
There are currently discounts available out for Walt Disney World until the end of September 2019, but many people have been asking about free dining discounts for fall of 2019. The fall has become very popular with many Disney deal searchers the last few years with many people hoping for the coveted free dining or greatly discounted rooms.
Disney surprised us all by announcing the free delicious offer at the beginning of January for arrivals between July 5th and September 30. Since Disney announced this summer free dining there isn’t a guarantee that fall with have the same discount. There is also some buzz around that they may have moved up the free dining since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is currently set to open in late Fall 2019.
If you are still holding out for fall free dining, here are a few ways to help you prepare for a potential release!
First, we can look at prior year discounts and their details. If these fall into the dates you want to travel to Disney, you might have a chance of snagging an awesome deal!
Fall Free Dining 2018: It was released on April 24, 2018, with arrival dates from August 20 to September 29, November 24 to November 27, and December 7 to December 23. You could get these free dining plans as long as you booked a package including non-discounted 5 night/6day Magic Your Way package that includes a room and Park Hopper ticket. Hotels included were as follows: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Family Suites only, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Second, for free dining, it is important to note which dining plan is included with the free dining offer. Many people think that staying at a value resort will get them the standard dining plan, but that is not the case. If you stayed at a participating deluxe resort, you received the standard dining plan for free. If you stayed at a participating value or moderate resort, you received the quick service dining plan for free but could upgrade to the standard by paying the difference. It is a major advantage to know all the details of the previous free dining offers before the next one comes out so that you are the most prepared to snag this delicious offer!
Thirdly, once we know the resorts that are usually included and excluded you can decide whether these discounts are meant for you. If you have your heart set on a Little Mermaid room at Art of Animation, you will most likely not be able to get any of the discounts that Disney puts out. Disney also doesn’t always include the Cabin’s at Fort Wilderness, so if you are camper and love to stay at this amazing resort, be prepared in case this resort isn’t included next time.
Finally, the last item to get you prepared for now is to compare discounts. Every time free dining comes out, most people automatically think that free dining is the best discount but that is not necessarily true. If you typically like to stay at deluxe resorts, the room discount for those resorts could end up saving you more money than having a free dining plan. Due to this, always make sure that you always compare both the room discount against the free dining to make sure that you are getting the best deal that Disney can offer you!
