Question: Which Dinner Shows are good for kids at Disney World?

Answer:  Disney currently offers three Dinner Shows…all of which are enjoyed by kids of all ages!

The first is Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.  This show, located in the open-air theater in Luau Cove, celebrates the Polynesian culture, featuring dancers, drummers, and a not to miss fire-knife performer.  The underlying theme of the show is Auntie Wini is throwing a luau to say farewell to one of the local girls who is headed off to college on the mainland.  On the menu, you will find authentic dishes, such as Island pulled pork, BBQ ribs, roasted chicken, fresh salad, honey-lime slaw, and pineapple-coconut bread.  Save room for dessert, the pineapple bread pudding with caramel sauce is to die for!  Kids favorites are also served and the cost of the meal includes soft drinks, lemonade, coffee, and other non-alcoholic beverages.  Guests ages 21+ year can enjoy beer and wine with their meals and a fruity cocktail is available for an additional charge.  The cost of the meal ranges from $33.99-$39.99 for kids and $60.99-$72.99 depending on which seating category you reserve.

The next two Dinner Shows are located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.  Join Mickey and his pals at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ for an all-you-care-to-eat BBQ buffet and be entertained by cowboy rope tricks and a live country-western band.  After dinner, head on over to the dance floor for some line dancing with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale (characters and entertainment subject to change).  The characters also mingle throughout the night for photo ops and autographs.  On the menu for the evening, you will find your favorite BBQ picnic items, such as BBQ ribs, smoked chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and macaroni and cheese.  Lemonade, fruit punch and soft drinks are included for all guests, and those over 21 can enjoy beer and wine.  This show is offered seasonally, so be sure to check with your travel agent to see if it’s available during your trip.  This meal ranges from $32.99 for kids to $$56.99 for adults.

Finally, one of my family’s favorites…the Hoop-De-Doo-Revue!  Also at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and two table service credits on the Disney Dining Plan, this 2 hour hilarious and spirited dinner show is sure to entertain the entire family.  Join the Pioneer Hall Players for dancing, singing, and comedy.  And be prepared…you never know when you will end up as part of the show!  Clap your hands, stop your feet, sing along and have a great time with the whole family.  In between skits, enjoy all-you-care-to-eat fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, salad, baked beans, cornbread, and strawberry shortcake.  Unlimited draft beer, wine and sangria are included for guests 21 and over.  Soft drinks are also included.  Prices for this show range from $32.99-$36.99 for kids and $58.99-$67.99 for adults.

For all three shows, two table service credits from the Disney Dining Plan can be used.  At the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, seating will be in categories two and three.  As with all Disney table service restaurants and buffets, reservations 180 days in advance are highly recommended.
