Fans of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, UNITE! When Tomorrowland Terrace was officially replaced in 1994, Disney World frequenters were hesitant about this new change in location. In 1995, the audio-animatronic Alien, or Zorkie, known as Sonny Eclipse braced the stage and the restaurant would never be the same. In case you wondered, the smooth crooning voice behind Sonny was a fantastic singer named Kal David, who passed away in 2022. We have him to thank for bringing Sonny to life.
The love for this restaurant is real. Fans have created amazing art and merch surrounding everything Sonny. If ever he’s in need of a galactic reprieve (or maintenance) people are sure to notice. You can find more merch highlighting this exceptional songster, but we’ve shown two of our favorite pieces of gear to have on you on your next visit.
Have you not been to Cosmic Rays – go with an open heart. To have to be honest, when I first went a few years ago, I thought I was just going for a quick meal indoors. I was pleasantly surprised by a quick and efficient meal, shelter from the Florida weather, and the crooning entertainer mentioned above. I feel that if you’re a huge Muppet fan, you’ll love this place as well.
Featuring American cuisine, the menu has Burgers, Sandwiches, Chicken Tenders to even a Chopped Vegetable and Crispy Noodle Salad! Check out the Plant-Based Patty Melt if you’re looking for a non-meat option. Make sure to take advantage of their allergy-friendly menu. The staff is impeccable and truly works to fit your dietary needs. You can even order on the app and your meal can be ready as soon as you are if you plan ahead!
