It’s time to save the galaxy with Marvel’s cosmic heroes! Starting in late May, guests visiting EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort better get ready to crank up the mixtape for an awesome intergalactic chase through time and space in Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! But one question remains: Will there be previews for theme park guests?
Beginning Friday, May 27, guests visiting EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort will blast through the galaxy on the all-new coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The attraction will open as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration.
The family-friendly coaster brings the fun, action, and rockin’ tunes from the Guardians of the Galaxy films, along with your favorite misfits Rocket, Groot, Drax, Gamora, and Star-Lord. Glenn Close reprises her role from the films as Nova Prime, the leader of Xandar and commander of the Nova Corps. Plus, the attraction is one of the longest fully enclosed coasters in the world!
Located in the theme park’s newly renamed World Discovery neighborhood, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be the first “other-world” showcase pavilion at EPCOT. Xandarians traveled from their homeworld to Earth—or Terra, as they call it—to build the fantastical pavilion to educate EPCOT guests about their advanced technologies… until the Guardians arrive, anyway, and the adventure begins.

Disney World President Jeff Vahle has just announced that Cast Member Previews would be coming soon for the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion in Epcot, home of Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind!

Cast, I am excited to share some awesome news with you! On May 27, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will blast into EPCOT. We are looking to you to be among the first to experience this incredible adventure.
Cast Members will have several opportunities to experience and understand the storyline of this new attraction before it opens to Guests, starting with Cast-exclusive, early-access sneak peeks beginning in April, followed by Cast Member previews with friends or family in May. So, start prepping your very own Awesome Mix playlist, and keep an eye out for more information coming soon!
But wait, there’s more! Communications went out today to notify annual passholders and DVC members to expect an email with instructions on how to register for a sneak peek! So, a special preview opportunity is coming soon for both passholders and DVC members. We are waiting to see when registration emails go out, but it should be soon.
A New Kind of Family Thrill
In addition to the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will offer several other “firsts,” including:
- The first coaster attraction at EPCOT.
- The first reverse launch for a Disney coaster.
- The first Walt Disney World attraction to feature the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The Wonders of Xandar Pavilion
Xandarians have come to Earth and are hard at work building their new EPCOT pavilion. Highlights include:
- The Galaxarium, a sweeping planetarium-style space showcasing planets, stars and other intergalactic wonders that connect Terra and Xandar.
- The Xandar Gallery, where guests will discover more about the Xandarian people, culture and history – including the heroes of Xandar – through specially crafted displays and projections.

- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be one of the longest fully enclosed coasters in the world, housed in one of the largest show buildings ever constructed for a Disney theme park.
- By volume, four Spaceship Earths would fit inside the attraction’s massive new show building.
- Academy Award® nominee Glenn Close reprises her role from “Guardians of the Galaxy” as Nova Prime, the leader of Xandar and commander of the Nova Corps.
- Disney Imagineers were recently on-set for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” to film with the Guardians for this new attraction.
- A Starblaster will stand outside the Wonders of Xandar building, the first full-size version of this Xandarian ship ever built.
