2019 is going to be a huge year for openings and new experiences at Disney World. New shows, new resorts, an all-new Skyliner transportation will begin operating, plus you may have heard of a little land called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that is coming this Fall. With all of these new openings and experiences, let’s not forget that you will be able to enjoy a bunch of new restaurants that will be opening in 2019 at Disney World! Yes, give me all the food!! To get you prepared for all that deliciousness, here is all the information you need to know for what is opening, where and when.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Restaurants
Along with being able to enjoy Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, there will be two new dining venues with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in “late Fall” 2019.
Olga’s Cantina: Opening in late 2019, the cantina will be serving up themed cocktails, non-alcoholic specialty drinks, and Blue Milk! Blue Milk first appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In the movies, it was rich blue-colored milk produced by female Banthas and it was also called Bantha milk. The cantina will have entertainment options, including the original Star Tours Captain Rex, RX-24 laying down the tracks as the DJ.
The other dining venue featured in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be a “dinner club” style restaurant with an in-park dinner show. The name of this restaurant has not been released as of yet.
Disney Springs Restaurants
Slated to open in the Summer of 2019 and still under construction, the NBA Experience will be an entertainment center that is basketball-themed. Guests will get an idea what it is like for the NBA draft, create scouting reports, participate in pregame prep and see if they make the highlight reel with a slam dunk.
Also opening in the Summer of 2019 is Jaleo. This restaurant is helmed by the famous chef, Jose Andres. If you love Spanish food such as paella and tapas, then this will be the restaurant for you.
City Works Eatery & Pour House is another restaurant on the docket for Summer of 2019. With over 80 beers on tap and a slew of huge TV’s, this venue will be the perfect setting for all the sports fans and beer lovers.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Restaurants
Three Bridges Bar and Grill will be opening at Coronado Springs Resort in the Summer of 2019. Coronado Springs Resort is on a 14-acre lake, Lago Dorado, and the restaurant will be located at the center of the lake.
Also opening the Summer of 2019 in the new Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, is Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood. Get ready for a signature experience of rooftop dining with a view of fireworks!!
If you would like another rooftop dining experience with views of Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then you will want to head over to the new Disney’s Riviera Resort. This sister resort to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is projected to open in Fall 2019. As of yet, this restaurant has not been named.
Epcot Restaurants
An all-new table service restaurant will be coming to the Japan Pavilion in the World Showcase. This will be a signature dining experience that will draw from Japanese art and nature. It will fit in perfectly with the cultural experiences that are available to visiting guests in World Showcase. Disney did confirm that the restaurant would be sometime in the near future and we may see it open as soon as Fall 2019.
Although there isn’t an announced timeframe, we are also excitedly awaiting the new Mission Space restaurant at Epcot. Hopefully this new venue, with a possible name of Space 220, will be opening in 2020.
So, in a nutshell, these are all the new restaurants opening in 2019. Which restaurant are you most excited to try?
