Have you ever been asked why you love Disney? It’s hard to come up with just one answer, right? Well, Disneyland has so many amazing things to offer for kids of all ages – those that are actually kids, and those that are kids at hard. Here are 10 things that we love about Disneyland!
Indiana Jones Adventure – This ride is like nothing else in the park. Journey into the temple with Dr. Jones for an epic adventure. The line for this one can get to be pretty long, but the queue has a lot of artifacts and booby traps to look at. While it is not for those that scare easily, if you like adventure you’ll love this ride.
New Orleans Square – When you enter this part of the park you are transported to a Mardi Gras celebration! Here you can shop, board the Disneyland Railroad, join hitchhiking ghosts or pillage with pirates, or best of all – you can partake of some amazing New Orleans style cooking!
Goofy’s Playhouse – This is a great place to hang out if you have a little one that needs to burn off some energy. Located in Toontown, Goofy’s Playhouse has a small slide as well as things to climb on and through. My son played here for at least an hour straight! He got to run around while the adults got to rest our feet for a while.
Single Rider Lines – These lines are offered at a few rides can be really helpful for those that are traveling with a little one that isn’t big enough to experience a ride. You can also use rider swap for the purpose, but if you don’t mind riding by yourself the single rider line will see you on the ride in a snap. You can also use this option for a whole group – but you will be separated.
Dole Whips – Yum! Even though the line may seem long, you will never wait too long for a delicious and refreshing Dole Whip.
Corn Dogs – I have to say that the corn dog that we tried on our last trip from the Corn Dog Cart on Main Street may have been the best corn dog I’ve ever had.
Roaming Characters – I love meeting characters, mostly because my son loves to meet them. While there are some characters that meet in the same place every day there are some characters that seem to just appear. On our last trip we found Peter Pan along with Captain Hook and on the next day we found Captain Hook by himself.
Storybook Canal Boats – This ride give you the opportunity to see the lands of many different fairytales all on one boat ride. It is definitely a cute ride, and I look forward to riding it on every trip. The best part is being swallowed by Monstro!
Less Planning – One of my favorite parts of a Disney World vacation is the planning, but one of my favorite parts of a Disneyland vacation is the lack of planning. Having an annual pass makes this part easier, too. In the past my family has decided to go to Disneyland for the day within an hour before heading to the park. There are is no 180 day out dining reservations to think about, and you can grab your Fastpasses in the park. You can have a great time at Disneyland even if you just play it by ear.
It was First – Last, but certainly not least – we love Disneyland because it was Walt’s first park! While it may not be as large or have as many parks as Disney World, it has a certain magic to it because Walt actually spent time here.

While Disneyland may not require immense amounts of planning, it does require some if you don’t love close by or have an annual pass.
