My family is so excited for our first Disney Cruise! What should we know before we go?
First, know that you picked an amazing cruise line for your family! The memories you are about to create are going to be priceless and this is going to be a wonderful experience for all of you to share together.
The first thing to know is that all of your meals and entertainment are included. Disney offers rotational dining to ensure that you will be able to dine in all of the awesome venues on the ship and your serving team follows you each night, so they get to know you and your family’s preferences. Nightly entertainment, including live musicals, bring your favorite Disney characters to life and the shows are shown twice, so you don’t have to worry about the times conflicting with your dining. You can promise your kiddos that they will get to see the shows before or after dinner. And, let’s not forget about Pirate Night! Cruisers of all ages have a blast at this swashbuckling party!!
Next, your kids will find activities for them, no matter what age they are! The Disney Cruise Line does a great job tailoring special activities to babies, preschoolers, tweens and teens! The Oceaneer Clubs are supervised by specially trained counselors to ensure that age appropriate activities are engaging your little ones. Up on the decks, your kiddos can find water-play areas to swim and splash. The Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream even feature a pool and lounge (supervised by youth counselors) just for teens called Vibe. No matter what age your kids are, the Disney Cruise Line promises that they will have fun!
And let’s not forget about the adults, because why should kids have all the fun? Parents and adult guests can look forward to enjoying some quiet time on the ship and there are adult-only areas on each ship, like a relaxing pool, spa, fitness center and coffee shop. Adults can also find nighttime entertainment to enjoy live music and shows, along with adult-exclusive dining options, like the Italian, fine dining restaurant Palo (on all ships) and the French-inspired Remy (on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy).
Castaway Cay also features activities for each member of your family, including a family beach and one just for adults. On the island you will find chairs, umbrellas, towels, a fabulous lunch buffet, cold beverages and cabanas for rent. Leave your watch onboard, because you will know your day on Disney’s private island has come to an end when the ship’s horn blows.
Finally, know going into this cruise that the Disney Difference is what you will remember the most. While the ports you visit will be memorable, the magic onboard will blow you away. From family-sized staterooms, featuring areas to relax, store your things and get ready comfortably, you will forget that you are on a cruise ship. Dining will treat you to a variety of cuisines and the service you receive from you dining team will amaze you.
