Question: Which resorts are on-site at Disneyland?
Answer: there are 3 different resort hotels at the Disneyland Resort. They are Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disneyland Hotel, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a luxury hotel designed to celebrate the 19th-century Arts & Crafts movement. The lobby is a stunning six stories high, constructed of stone and wood and all of the rooms have American Craftsman-style décor. A unique quality to the Grand Californian is the special theme park entrance to Disney’s California Adventure and an entrance to Downtown Disney. With a valid theme park ticket, you can walk from the hotel directly into the park! Among the other amenities at this resort are a luxurious spa, award-winning dining, themed pools, and a supervised children’s activity center.
The Disneyland Hotel was the first resort hotel to bear the Disney name. This hotel is just steps away from Downtown Disney and a short walk to both theme parks. There are three towers at the Disneyland Hotel: Adventure, Fantasy, and Frontier tower. Each is an homage to the original lands at Disneyland. This resort is sleek and modern while including the spirit of Disneyland’s past. There are 5 signature suites at the Disneyland Hotel. You can stay as a pirate, a princess, a miner, or an explorer; or stay in the ultimate VIP suite: the Mickey Mouse Penthouse. This hotel also features themed pools with waterslides, and dining for every taste.
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel celebrates the heyday of California’s beachfront boardwalks. All of the rooms have a charming seaside-inspired theme. Standard rooms can sleep up to 5 guests. One unique feature to this hotel is the rooftop pools with waterslide. On select nights you can watch the Disneyland fireworks (and hear a live synchronized broadcast) from the third floor pool deck. The Paradise Pier Hotel also offers a variety of dining, shopping and recreation opportunities.
One of the perks of staying on-site at a Disneyland Resort hotel is you get early admission to the parks each day you go. My family has stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel and we really enjoyed being immersed in all things Disney. The hotel was comfortable and having access to the parks for an extra hour each day was wonderful!
