Q: Will there be FastPasses available for the attractions at Pandora – The World of Avatar and when can I book them?
A: This is definitely the question that most families planning a trip to Disney World in 2017 are curious about. Pandora- The World of Avatar will be opening on May 27th ,2017. There are several attractions that will make up this stunning new land based on James Cameron’s Avatar franchise and these are as follows:
Avatar Flight of Passage: Climb on the back of a majestic banshee for this birds-eye view of Pandora’s incredible landscapes. Take in your surroundings with breathtaking first-person vistas in an epic journey that you won’t soon forget.
Guests must be at least 44 inches tall to enjoy this attractions.
Navi River Journey: On this attraction guests can set course into the depths of a bio luminescent rainforest. Along the route visitors will encounter exotic glowing plants and amazing creatures before coming face to face with the Na’vi Shaman of Songs.
There are no height requirements for this attraction
FastPass: Yes
Valley of Mo’ara – Be transported to another world on your journey through the magical landscape that makes up Pandora- The World of Avatar. Everywhere you turn, wonders await from the amazing floating mountains to out-of-this-world flora and fauna. Guests will encounter bio luminescent plants that light up when the sun goes down, a Na’vi built drum circle with playable instruments and totems and other Na’vi cultural relics scattered about the land. There’s even new Wilderness Explorer stations for those little ones keen to earn their badges.
As this is a walk through rather than a ride there are no height requirements.
FastPass: No
Q: So when am I able to get Fastpasses for Na’vi River Journey and Avatar Flight of Passage?
A: Great news for those heading to the parks in the Summer months ahead. Disney officially announced today that FastPasses for these attractions will become available starting tomorrow (March 24, 2017). However, please note that guests are only able to choose 1 Fastpass between the two new Pandora attractions. For the other attraction you will either need to wait in line, visit Animal Kingdom another day and select the attraction that got left out the first time, or try and book the second attraction using your 4th or 5th (on the day) FastPass selections.
Q: But I already have all 3 Fastpasses booked at Animal Kingdom. What should I do?
A: When these FastPasses go live tomorrow it will really be trial and error. However, guests should be able to switch out your already booked FastPasses for the new Pandora options provided that there is availability. FastPasses go on-sale from 6am. If its Pandora FP’s you’re after then I would definitely recommend setting those alarms.
Just a general reminder regarding FastPasses as well. On-site guests have the ability to book FastPasses 60 days in advance and off-site guests 30 days in advance. If your FastPass booking window hasn’t opened up yet then you will not be able to book in FP’s for Pandora- The World of Avatar until your window officially opens!
Q: Will Animal Kingdom be staying open longer when Pandora- The World of Avatar opens? Yes! Onsite guests hoping to check out Pandora between May 27 – July 4, 2017 will be able to take advantage of exclusive Evening Extra Magic Hours. These special evenings will take place from 11pm – 1 am and only the attractions in Pandora will be on offer. During this time guests will be able to watch the bio luminescent surroundings come to life. As a mater of fact, it promises to be such a different experience than Pandora during the daytime that guests really will want to make time in their touring plans to experience this new land both during the day and at night!
