Whether you’re on a girls only trip and looking for a night on the town or travelling with tiny tots that have a bit of energy to burn, there are lots of fun slightly under-the-radar places at Walt Disney World for those that love to put on their dancing shoes. To give you a taste of just some of the amazing opportunities you have on your vacation to enjoy having a boogie here are 10 of our favorites!
1. The Edison – Disney Springs – This Disney Springs newcomer already has a bit of a following for those looking to enjoy a night out while at Disney World. The decor is industrial and gothic meets steampunk and is fashioned after an abandoned electric company. The venue prides itself on incredible eats from Prime Rib to burgers as well and handcrafted cocktail. At 10 pm each evening, The Edison is transformed into an Adult-Only Cabaret. One bar area has a stage and dance floor with live musicians, Roaring 20’s style dancers, aerialists and a DJ spinning incredible tunes.
2. The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! – Hollywood Studios – Fan’s of the Guardians of the Galaxy films won’t want to miss this fun concert series that will kick off as part of Disney World’s Incredible Summer offerings on June 9th. Star-Lord and Gamora will take guests on a musical journey that features many of the incredible jams found on Star-Lord’s Awesome Mixtapes. The group will take to the stage 5 times daily from June 9 – August 19, 2018.
3. Mickey’s Backyard BBQ – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – Those looking for a good old hoedown need look no further than this fun dinner show experience. This festive backyard gathering takes place on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm. The offering features a BBQ buffet with live country western music, lots of dancing and some of your favorite Disney characters. Adults 21 and older can also enjoy beer, wine or sangria included in the cost of your meal. It is the perfect way to burn off all that extra energy after an action-packed day at the theme parks and Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale are usually there to tear up the dancefloor with you. Costs to attend range from $67 -72 per adult or $37 – 47 per child. Reservations can be made online or by calling 407.WDW.DINE.
4. Donald’s Dino-Bash – Animal Kingdom – Starting on May 25th fans of Donald Duck will want to head over to Dinoland U.S.A for this fun-filled celebration. Donald Duck is celebrating his recent discovery that ducks are descendants of dinosaurs. Feathered friends Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad McQuack will also be on hand to meet guests. As part of the fun, Donald will throw a nightly dance party where visitors young and old can go to shake your tail feathers!
5. Atlantic Dance Hall – Disney’s Boardwalk – For adults looking to enjoy a night of dancing, this is the place at Walt Disney World to do it. Visitors can get into the grove at this happening nightclub that plays the hottest songs from the 80’s, 90’s and today. The stunning Art Deco ballroom offers plenty of space to show off your killer moves. When its time for a break there are also balconies offering romantic views of Crescent Lake. The Dance Hall is open most nights from 9pm – 2am. Its the ideal location for those staying at one of Disney’s Epcot Resorts as well as the Swan and Dolphin.
6. Incredible Tomorrowland Expo – Magic Kingdom – Starting on May 25th visitors to Tomorrowland will have the “Incredible” opportunity to meet Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Mrs. Incredible and Edna Mode! Throughout this area of the park, you’ll be immersed in the world of The Incredibles with themed decor, sound effects and music. The festivities will include interactive dances and special entertainment taking place during the Super Party Time Stage show. So be on the lookout for this exciting new offering taking place at the Rocket Tower Plaza from May 25 – September 3, 2018.
7. Discovery Island Carnivale – Animal Kingdom – This nighly celebration inspired by Carnivale celebrations around the world is simply not to be missed! The festivities kick off with the distinctive sounds of Latin & World-beat rhythms culminating in a visit from Jose and Panchito from the Three Caballeros. The Viva Gaia Stree Band! will entice you to dance the night away with their cheerful music and performers don beautiful costumes inspired by the living creatures of the land, air and sea. It’s a free-spirited dance party that needs to be experienced to be believed. Be prepared to clap your hands, dance and laugh as the sun sets over the Animal Kingdom.
8. House of Blues – Disney Springs – With so much excitement going on at Walt Disney World, it’s easy to forget that there’s a wonderful concert venue right in the heart of Disney Springs offering an exciting and ecclectic array of happenings that will have you dancing away. Sunday brings the Gospel Brunch, there’s live music most evenings on the Front Porch and the concert hall boasts a pretty impressive line up of acts. This summer alone features performances from Boy George, the B52s, Janelle Monae, The Violent Femmes and more! Reservations for the restaurant are recommended and can be made via My Disney Experience. Tickets for the concerts must be purchased in advance you can find out more here.
9. Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party – Magic Kingdom – We dare you to try to stop yourself from dancing to the beat of this street party! Favorite Disney characters like Genie, Mickey and Minnie, Woody and Jessie, and Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps ride alongside giant gift boxes as they circle Cinderella Castle. Best of all, guests are welcome to join in on the fun! You’re invited to snap photos on your smartphone and post them along with the tag #MoveitShakeitPics. You might just spot your picture on one of the float’s video screens! Check the Magic Kingdom time guides as street party times vary.
10. Marketplace Stage- Disney Springs – I’m always surprised but the fantastic offerings that seem to pop up at this open-air venue in central Disney Springs. Relax or dance the night away with live performances, DJ Dance Parties for the kids and so much more. You can do this all while enjoying the gorgeous views of Lake Buena Vista.
