We are only a week away from the event that Disneyland Star Wars fans have been waiting for, the first Disneyland After Dark- Star Wars Nite officially kicks off on May 3rd! This special ticketed event is the perfect way to celebrate all things Star Wars with everything from special meet and greets, merchandise, attractions and more. To give you just a flavor of the happenings that await guests lucky enough to be attending one of these events here’s our list of 10 reasons why we can barely contain our Star Wars excitement!
1. Second Night Added on May 9th! – Originally there was just one Star Wars Nite scheduled to take place at Disneyland on May 3rd. However, this event sold out so quickly that Disney added a second night of Star Wars-themed fun on May 9th. This second night promises to be equally as exciting as the original with a few extra treats thrown in for good measure like the ability to purchase special Solo: A Star Wars Story pins and special photo opportunities. However, what we like most about this second soiree is that tickets haven’t even gone on sale yet meaning fans still have a chance to try your luck! Tickets will be available starting on May 1st. 2. After Hours Access to Attractions – Your party pass will get you into the park from 6pm where you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy some of Disneyland’s headlining attractions including Star Tours, “it’s a small world,” Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Jungle Cruise!
3. Dress the Part – These special themed nights are one of the only times where guests are allowed to visit Disneyland in costume. So get out those robs and lightsabers and prepare to play your part during this wonderful nighttime celebration.
4. Meet Rey – Starting in May, this esteemed heroine will begin meeting guests at Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland. So show your support for the Resistance and be sure to have those cameras and autograph books at the ready!
5. Hyperspace Mountain – As a special treat for Disneyland visitors this Spring, the Star Wars-themed overlay on the ever-popular Space Mountain attraction will be making a return. Hyperspace Mountain puts you in the middle of a battle between good and evil as you evade Rebel X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters. From the moment you are greeted by Admiral Ackbar to receive your mission briefing to the final assault on the Star Destroyer, it is non-stop Star Wars action at its best!
6. One-of-a-Kind Souvenirs – Disneyland is keeping a tight lip on the merchandise for this event but if I were you, I’d definitely set aside a bit in my Disney budget for the special collector’s items that might crop up. Highlights will include exclusive merchandise, limited edition pins and so much more! Your ticket to the event will also come with a commemorative lanyard making the perfect addition to your Star Wars collection.
7. Star Wars-themed Food and Beverage Offerings – Guests will also want to bring your appetites as Disney is promising some pretty epic eats with new and returning Star Wars speciality food and beverages items created especially for the event!
8. Special Photo Ops – On the night, guests will want to be on the lookout for special Star Wars-themed photo opportunities. Let Disney’s photographers take your picture against a specially themed backdrop exclusive to Star Wars Nite Guests will also be able to enjoy unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads of any images taken during the event.
9. Witness the March of the First Order – Captain Phasma takes center stage in this remarkable march that will definitely make you feel in the middle of the action.
10. Groove the Night Away at the Galactic Dance Party – Definitely, bring your dancing shoes for this special soiree that will have you tearing it up alongside some of your favorite Star Wars friends!
