It seems like every week Disney releases new and exciting updates we’ve all been waiting for. It seems like slowly but surely all of our favorite attractions, restaurants, and experiences are returning to Walt Disney World. Disney has recently made some super exciting updates and announcements, here are 5 that you won’t want to miss!
Space 220 Restaurant set to open in Septemeber
I have been waiting for what feels like forever for this news! This new restaurant in EPCOT will truly be one of a kind, as guests will be virtually transported to a space station 220 miles above Earth! This will not just be a dining experience, but a truly out-of-this-world immersive experience unlike anything else! We have been patiently waiting for opening updates and finally received the official news.
Boma- Flavors of Africa will reopen as a buffet
Boma- Flavors of Africa is a fan-favorite located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and will reopen Friday, August 20th! What makes this restaurant reopening so exciting is that it will return as a buffet! We have seen many restaurants reopen and offer family-style service in place of a buffet, so this was great news for the many guests who love buffet-style dining. Could this mean more buffets will be returning soon?
Disney has updated face covering requirements again
Beginning Thursday, August 19th, face coverings will be optional for guests in outdoor queues, on outdoor attractions, or in outdoor theaters. Face coverings have been optional for guests in common outdoor areas since May 2021 but were required in all queue areas, theaters and on all attractions. Face coverings will still be required for all guests (2 and up) while indoors and in Disney busses, Disney Skyliner, and monorail, regardless of the guest’s vaccination status.
‘Ohana has restored original menu items
‘Ohana fans will rejoice when they hear the news that some of the original menu items are back! Peel-n-eat shrimp and grilled chicken have replaced the shrimp casserole and roasted chicken and the famous original ‘Ohana bread is back! It seems like Disney has really listened to guests’ wishes regarding the menu changes.
Tortuga Tavern reopened in Disney’s Magic Kingdom with new menu items
This popular quick-service restaurant located across from Pirates of the Caribbean has reopened! The menu now includes a brand new item, the Peanut Butter, Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, and Banana Sandwich!
