From Christmas trees to drones and from princesses to gingerbread creations there’s no shortage of amazing things to see and do over the holiday season and the list just got longer. Here at Disney Addicts, we are dedicating to keeping you straight so here’s quick rundown of some of the new happenings at Walt Disney World Resort this Christmas period.
1. Christmas Tree Trail Opens – Disney Springs: If you are heading over to Disney Springs for your Christmas shopping, be sure to check out the 15 delightful Christmas Trees on display. Each one is themed after a different Disney story or character and includes favorites like Tangled, The Jungle Book, Disney Villains, Lilo and Stitch and 101 Dalmatians just to name a few. Guests walking the trail will also be able to bask in the Christmas ambiance which will include gently falling snow and well as Christmas Carolers along the route. The trail will remain open trough January 8th.
2. Starbright Celebration: An Intel Collaboration makes it debut at Disney Springs: Disney World’s downtown shopping district is definitely the place to be this Holiday Season. If the amazing trees on display aren’t impressive enough then be prepared to be blown away by Starbright Celebration. Disney has collaborated with Intel to bring an evening Christmas pageant in the sky that is made up of drones! This makes it the first of its kind not only for Disney but in the whole of the United States. This amazing evening display will be accompanied by delightful orchestrations of classic Christmas songs as guests are encouraged to look up at the night sky and wish upon a star.

Cabana Rentals Now Available at Magic Kingdom – For guests at the Magic Kingdom wanting an exclusive place to relax and unwind, Disney has just started offering one-day cabana rentals in Tomorrowland, located behind Space Mountain. A day rental of one of these tent-like structures will set guests back $649. However, they do come with a few nice perks including drinks, snacks and reserved viewing for parade and fireworks. The cabanas can hold a maximum of 8 family members and can be booked by contacting Disney directly at 407.WDW.PLAY.
4. Tiana’s Riverboat Party and Ice Cream Social Now Open at Magic Kingdom: For those looking for the perfect afternoon activity for your little princess, consider booking this trip aboard Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Belle steamboat and be taken on a magical journey that includes hand-dipped ice cream, other sweet treats, a meet and greet with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen and a unique view of Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade. The event runs daily and begins 45 minutes before the parade. The cost is $49 per adult and $29 per child under the age of 9.
