Walt Disney World is a great place to have an amazing date! Whether you don’t have kids, you are there with the whole family and have a babysitter available or the kids are at home, there are so many options to have some time as a couple surrounded by Disney magic! Check out these 7 great ideas for a date at Walt Disney World.
Disney After Hours
The Disney After Hours events are special, hard-ticket events that allow you to have access to one of the theme parks with special experiences, low crowds, and complimentary snacks. Some of the events are themed, such as the Villains After Hours happening this summer. These are a great way to experience all the most popular attractions with short wait times. For a date, why not enjoy dinner somewhere and then head to the park for the evening? Guests are typically allowed to enter around 7:00 pm for these events.
Epcot’s World Showcase
The World Showcase has so much to offer, for all ages. However, it’s the perfect place to have a date night where you can try different food and drinks, enjoy the entertainment throughout the day and/or evening, and more. This is especially the case if you are visiting during one of the festivals that occur throughout the year. Then, you can end the evening by watching the nighttime show. Until September 30, you can see IllumiNations: Reflections of the Earth and starting October 1, Epcot Forever will be showing.
Fireworks
There are great fireworks shows at three of the four theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. My personal favorite is Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom. However, there are two wonderful options at both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There is also a beautiful nighttime show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom called Rivers of Light – We are One. A dessert party would be a great way to get a great view of any of these shows. For some of these shows, you do not have to be in the parks to see the shows. For example, if you have dinner at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you can then watch the show from the restaurant or outdoor viewing area with the music piped in! You may also opt for a private fireworks cruise, where you can enjoy food and beverages while you watch the show!
If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind romantic experience, complete with dinner inside Cinderella Castle, priority viewing for Happily Ever After, and a dessert party afterward, you may want to consider the new Signature Celebration Package at Cinderella’s Royal Table. This would be the perfect date night for any Disney lover, complete with meeting Cinderella and Prince Charming!
Disney’s Boardwalk or Disney Springs
After a day at the parks, why not head to Disney’s Boardwalk or Disney Springs for a date night with food and dancing? On Disney’s Boardwalk, you could take a walk and enjoy the beautiful view along Crescent Lake. Stop by the Boardwalk Bakery or Ample Hills Creamery for a snack and if you are looking for nightlife and some dancing, the Atlantic Dance Hall or Jellyrolls are both fun options!
At Disney Springs, there are countless restaurants and shopping. You can walk around, eat a great meal, go bowling, and more! There is often live entertainment throughout the evening, both outdoors and at some of the restaurants and it is free to go there!
Horse-drawn Excursion and More
If you don’t want to be in one of the parks but still want to have a date with your significant other, why not head to Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort or Fort Wilderness? At Port Orleans – Riverside, you can enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride around this beautiful resort along the Sassagoula River. You could grab a bite to eat and also head to Disney Springs by boat when you are done!
If you want to explore more outdoor fun, head to Fort Wilderness and enjoy either a horse-drawn carriage or wagon ride through the forest of Fort Wilderness. Be on the lookout for wildlife along the way including deer, rabbits, and even armadillos. If you prefer, you also have the option to go horseback riding around the resort. Don’t forget to explore all that the Tri-Circle-D Ranch has to offer – it’s a great place to visit for all animal lovers! If you love the outdoors, you may also consider some of the other activities at Fort Wilderness. There is an archery experience for all ages and you could also opt to rent a canoe, kayak or motorized boat to explore the waterways around the resort.
Spa Day
If you are looking for some relaxation, why not head to one of the spas at the Walt Disney World Resort? There are several packages available to choose from, including a couples massage that would be a perfectly romantic, and relaxing, experience!
Miniature Golf
There are two miniature golf courses on Walt Disney World Resort property that have fun theming and the perfect opportunity for some time as a couple. The first one, the Winter Summerland, is located at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and the second one,
These are just 7 great ideas for a date at Walt Disney World. There are countless other ways to add some romance to your vacation! What would you add to this list?
