One thing Disney is known for is constantly changing, evolving, and renovating! While it’s great to have new and updated experiences, attractions, and lodging, this does mean some experiences, shops, hotels, and attractions have to close for refurbishments. If you are headed to Disney in the very near future, these are 8 closures you’ll want to know about!
Disney’s Skyliner
This convenient and popular mode of transportation will be closed from 1/23/2022 until 1/28/2022 for scheduled refurbishments.
The Walt Disney World Railroad
Ok, so this one should come as no surprise as it’s been closed for quite some time already. The reason? Part of the railroad track is actually blocked by the construction of the new attraction, TRON: Lightcycle Run, coming to Tomorrowland. We don’t have an exact opening date for the new attraction yet, so it’s not clear how much longer the Disney World Railroad will remain closed.
Splash Mountain
Yes, Splash Mountain is closed for refurbishments until February 10th, 2022- so it’s not THAT refurbishment. Just annual routine maintenance. We are still awaiting the closure for the reimagining of the attraction to its new Princess and the Frog theme.
Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
This popular rollercoaster at Disney’s Animal Kindom Park is set to be closed until mid-April 2022, we can only wonder, will the Yeti finally be fixed?
Souk-Al-Magreb
In EPCOT’s World Showcase Morocco Pavilion, the shop Souk-Al-Magreb remains closed. The shop is set to reopen on February 6th, 2022.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
Disney’s Blizzard Beach is currently closed with no set reopening date. Not to worry though, guests can still get their water park fix at Disney World by visiting the recently reopened Typhoon Lagoon!
Samawati Springs Pool- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
The pool featured at Kidani Village is set to be closed through April 2022. Guests staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will have to use the Uzima Springs pool at Jambo House.
Flippin’ Fins Pool- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Don’t worry- this is only one of the pools available for guests to use at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The Big Blue Pool and the Cozy Cone Pool will remain open!
