Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The much-anticipated opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is August 29, 2019 and there will be so much to explore. Whether you are stopping for a drink at Oga’s Cantina, grabbing a bite to eat at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or hopping on board the Millennium Falcon, you won’t want to miss any of it in this fully immersive land!
New Fireworks at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Starting on August 16, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be held several nights per week in the Magic Kingdom. This is a specially ticketed event and this year, there will be an all-new nighttime show. Filled with fireworks, lasers, and projection effects, this brand-new show will tell the story of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, as they go on a Halloween adventure through a mysterious haunted house.
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
This year, this popular festival is the longest one ever – 87 days! Running August 29 – November 23, Epcot will be filled with food booths, demonstrations, special merchandise, the Eat to the Beat concert series and much more!
Disney Skyliner Takes to the Sky
The Disney Skyliner will fill the skies this fall, connecting Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with four different Disney resorts. This gondola system will stop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and in mid-December, Disney’s Riviera Resort. The gondolas are uncovered now, revealing the iconic character designs on the outside. This new transportation system will offer a one-of-a-kind view from the sky!
Rivers of Light: We Are One Comes to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there will be a new rendition of the popular Rivers of Light show – Rivers of Light: We Are One. This show will still feature beautiful lights, music, and special effects. Coming soon though, look for added imagery and beloved characters from the Disneynature film series and classic moments in Disney animation. This new show will be one the whole family will love!
A New Era Begins with “Epcot Forever”
For nearly 20 years, “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth” has been the nighttime spectacular, beloved by millions. This fall, on September 30, it will show for the last time and a new era will begin. “Epcot Forever”, a limited-time nighttime show, will debut on October 1. This show will feature fireworks, lasers, and special effects kites paired with songs as it celebrates the past, present, and future of Epcot.
New Things to Explore at Disney Resorts
This fall, there is plenty new to welcome you at the Walt Disney World resort hotels! At Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, the all-new 15-story Gran Destino Tower adds 500-plus guestrooms – including suites and concierge-level service – and a rooftop restaurant. At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you will find all-new waterfront dining and shopping and coming in mid-December, Disney’s Riviera Resort will delight guests with a theme inspired by the European Riviera.
Celebrating 10 years of the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon
This year, runDisney celebrates 10 years of the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon. It takes place October 31 – November 3 and the event includes a 5K, 10K, half marathon and kids’ race. During Disney’s Fall Feast 5K, participants will be able to walk, run, or jog around Epcot. At the post-race party on November 3, participants can enjoy after-hours access to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and select attractions.
Disney Springs Brings a New NBA Experience and Other Seasonal Offerings
At Disney Springs, basketball is in season when the all-new NBA Experience opens on August 12. When you enter, you will step into a recreation of a modern NBA arena. There are 13 unique experiences where you feel like you are an NBA all-start immersed in the game! This is sure to be hands-on, interactive fun for the whole family!
Also, at Disney Springs, enjoy the new shopping and entertainment available. With new fall looks, including Disney Halloween costumes, there is something for everyone. Stop by one of the fall backdrops for fun family photos too!
