Though Summer may be officially winding down, for those visiting Disneyland in the weeks ahead you can still expect pretty hot temperatures! What better way to stay cool during your next trip to the West Coast Mouse than by tucking into some of our favorite Disney treats guaranteed to keep you cool. Here’s our list of 10 treats at Disneyland perfect for those hot theme park days.
1. Flavored Shaved Ice – You’ll want to make a beeline to Bifrosties at Disney California Adventure Park to try out one of these goodies. They’ll only be around for a few more weeks (until September 10th). They come in a variety of Marvel-themed flavors like the Spider Man-inspired Spider Venom (pictured) which is made up of blue raspberry and cherry shaved ice with condensed milk.
2. Caprese on Focaccia Bread – The perfect lite bite for sweltering temperatures, this sandwich is made up of tomatoes, lettuce, citrus aioli, basil, balsamic vinaigrette and a balsamic glaze and can be found at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland park.
3. Lobster Roll – Here’s one for all you seafood lovers. The Harbour Galley in Critter Country serves up this tasty sarnie featuring lobster salad served on a toasted buttered roll. It’s a filling treat without making you uncomfortable in the September heat.
4. Gourmet Cheese Plate and Cold Cut Plate – Here’s a bit of a charcuterie that all you wine lovers will appreciate. These delicious plates can be found at Sonoma Terrace at Disney California Adventure park and go perfectly with a nice cool glass of Chardonnay. The perfect option for when you want to spend a bit of time sitting back and relaxing.
5. Flo’s Classic Chocolate Shake – If you’re a milkshake lover than Flo’s V8 Cafe at Cars Land in Disney California Adventure is definitely worthy of a pit stop. And why over-complicate things? Keep it simple and cool off with a delicious chocolate milkshake topped with “Road Gravel” (aka delcious cookie crumbles). Set aside some time to relax at this outdoor eatery while enjoying the views of the Cadillac Mountain Range.
6. Fanta Orange Float – Trust me when I say that this refreshing beverage will take you back to those Dreamsicles you ate as a child. The float features two scoops of vanilla ice cream plus Fanta Orange Soda and can be found at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, U.S.A.
7. Ahi Poke – Another lite bite perfect for the Anaheim heat, this Hawaiian dish can be found at various locations throughout Disney California Adventure Park as well as Tangaroa Terrace at Disneyland Hotel. This dish is perfect for tiding you over without making you feel queasy.
8. Cobb Salad – For those with slightly heartier appetites, the Cobb Salad at Plaza Inn on Main Street is definitely a specialty worth trying. And what better place to indulge in this hearty entree than at this iconic Disneyland location. It’s a match made in heaven.
9. World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae – When it comes to this delicious treat the name says it all. You’ll find it at Ghirardelli at Disney California Adventure Park. This incredible sundae comes with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry. Guests also have the option of customzing your own by adding in your favorite ice cream flavors.
1. Boysen Apple Freeze – Delicious with or without the souvenir goblet, this is one of our favorite Disneyland treats any time of year but it’s especially refreshing when temperatures soar. The Boysen Apple consists of frozen apple juice mixed with a hint of wildberry and topped off with passionfruit foam. You’ll find it at Maurice’s Treats at in the Fantasyland section of Disneyland.
So if your plans take you to Disneyland resort in the weeks ahead and you’re looking for the perfect treats to enjoy when the temperatures start to rise, sample a selection or two from our tasty list!
