If you’re a bit of a milkshake connoisseur, a visit to Walt Disney World will not disappoint. There’s one of these delicious frozen concoctions available around nearly every corner. However, not all milkshakes are created equal and part of the challenge is find those sweet treats that really have that wow factor. To make sure that you’re milkshake cravings are gratified, we’ve put together a list of 7 of our favorite shakes at Walt Disney World. You’ll definitely want to give one or two of these a try during your next Disney visit.
1. Velvet Ropes – Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort – In anticipation of the 2018 dining plans which will include alcoholic beverages, Disney’s All Star Resorts have been unveiling delicious boozy milkshakes which are perfect for sipping poolside during those hot Disney days. The Velvet Ropes is one of our favorites and is a wonderful combination of vanilla ice cream with strawberries, sprinkles and Frangelico liqueur. You’ll find it topped off with whipped cream and sprinkles. This treat will set visitors back $12.00 but it is a whole lot of yummy.
2. All-You-Care-To Enjoy Milkshakes – Whispering Canyon Cafe- Wilderness Lodge – For those with hearty milkshake appetites, the milkshakes on the menu at Wilderness Lodge’s Table Service eatery are sure to please. The shakes here are served up in large mason jars and come in Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry or Caramel (our favorite). The rowdy staff is also pretty good at keeping the milkshakes coming so be prepared to over-indulge. The shakes here will set visitors back $9.00.
3. Cosmic Cotton Candy Milkshake – Planet Hollywood Observatory – Disney Springs – These deluxe shakes at Planet Hollywood really need to be seen to be believed and though we find each of these decadent concoctions to be a bit more style over substance, you gotta try one at least one. There are three deluxe shakes on offer but our favorite is the Cosmic Candy Milkshake. It’s comprised of a hand-dipped cotton candy milkshake with rainbow sprinkles, white chocolate covered pretzels, and topped off with cotton candy and a lollipop. At $14 it isn’t cheap but it is photo-worthy and perfect for sharing!
4. PB & J Milkshake- 50’s Prime Time Cafe – Hollywood Studios – A Disney World cult classic, the Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake at this Hollywood Studios eatery is a thing of beauty. What you’ll get is a delightful combination of vanilla ice cream, milk, peanut butter and of course jelly topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It is perfect in its simplicity and definitely conjures up memories of childhood. This tasty treat can be yours for $7.00.
5. Orea Cookie Milkshake – Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant- Hollywood Studios – Not only is Sci-Fi Dine-In one of our favorite places to eat in all of Walt Disney World but it also serves up one of our favorite milkshakes. The Oreo milkshake is a simple combination of vanilla ice cream and Oreo cookie crumbles and trust us when we say it is delicious. At $6.00, its also a nice little indulgence that won’t break the bank. For guests looking for a boozy version, however, there is the Orbiting Oreos. This beverage features the same great shake mixed with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and comes with a souvenir Glow Cube for $11.25.
6. Frozen Sunshine – Beaches & Cream – Disney’s Beach Club Resort – The ice cream treats being served up at this traditional soda shop are so delightful that they’re definitely worth taking a break from Epcot for! Our favorite is definitely the Frozen Sunshine. This shake is a combination of Rainbow Sherbert, Vanilla Ice Cream and Seltzer blended perfectly and topped with Whipped Cream and Candied Orange Slices. At $6.00, its the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up.
7. Smokey Bones Chocolate Shake – Trilo-Bites- Animal Kingdom – Though the base of this shake is of the bog-standard chocolate variety, its the add-ons that elevate it to a must-try sweet treat. For $11.00, the shake comes with Bourbon and a slice of Candied Bacon. It may seem like an odd combination but we think it works wonderfully.
With so many amazing eateries service up milkshakes, we’ve merely skimmed the surface of the incredible treats you’ll find at Walt Disney World. We think all of these milkshakes are worthy of a try. Let us know if your favorite made the cut in the comments below.
