What’s the best birthday present? Why, a trip to Walt Disney World, of course! Whether it’s your birthday, your child’s birthday, or another family member’s birthday, there’s no better way to celebrate than at Disney! Here are 6 ways to enjoy an extra special birthday Disney World-style:
1. Order a Celebration Cake
Yes! You read that right. You can order a special birthday cake to be delivered to your birthday guest-of-honor! There are lots of ways to order a celebration cake when visiting Disney World, but one of the easiest is to call the Disney cake-ordering hotline at 407-827-2253. Cake delivery can be made to your resort or to the theme parks, and cakes can be customized to meet your budget and needs. Be sure to order at least 48 hours beforehand for simpler cakes and up to 3 weeks for more complex cakes. You can also pre-order a cake from Disney’s Floral and Gifts department by calling 407-939-4438; this can be delivered directly to your resort room. Still, you’re always welcome to pick out a cake in person at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, or you can inquire about cake options when dining at any of Disney’s table service locations.
2. Arrange an In-Room Celebration
Bring the party right to your resort room by arranging a special in-room celebration from Disney’s Floral and Gifts services. These unique offerings range in price and variety. For instance, guests might choose to go all out with the Mickey & Friends Ultimate Birthday Celebration for $550, which includes birthday balloons, a Mickey chalkboard, character bins filled with gifts, treats, and party accessories, and even a deliciously delectable birthday cake. On the more economical side are balloon bouquets, flowers, or specialty cakes, which range anywhere from $33.99-$125. Visit Disney’s Floral and Gifts website to learn more about all of the extra-special birthday offerings available.
3. Enjoy a Special Dining Experience
There’s lots and LOTS of dining options perfect for any type of birthday celebration. Little kids and big-kids-at-heart might love an interactive character dining experience, whether at Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, or Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom Park. Plus, if you alert the servers that you’re celebrating a birthday, you might even get a special birthday card signed by your favorite characters! For those looking for a more upscale experience, there’s an array of signature dining locations that might hit the spot. Consider California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, where guests can savor dinner and cocktails followed by a rooftop viewing of the Happily Ever After fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. Or make reservations at The BOATHOUSE in Disney Springs, located along the waterfront, where guests can conclude their upscale dining experience by booking a romantic guided tour aboard Captain’s Italian Water Taxi or an exciting ride in a vintage Amphicars.
4. Unleash Your Inner Pirate or Princess
Celebrate your birthday pirate or princess with a fun enchanting extra! Make reservations at The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs. For starters, your child age 3 or older can join The Pirate League with a special pirate-themed transformation. Additionally, children ages 3-12 might enjoy a royal princess or prince makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. A variety of package options and price points are available for both of these magical extras. Call 407-WDW-CREW to learn more about The Pirates League and 407-WDW-STYLE to learn more about Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
5. Book a Fireworks Dessert Party
Birthdays are all about dessert, and who doesn’t love a little dessert with their fireworks? Lucky for you, Disney has several “premium” dessert party experiences to choose from. Some of our favorite experiences include the Happily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Parties at Magic Kingdom Park. Guests can choose from 2 options: the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace or the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing. These parties are essentially the same except for viewing location; Tomorrowland Terrace guests sit at the outside patio and Garden Plaza guests view from a standing-room only location. We also love the IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party at Epcot, which features worldly desserts and a VIP viewing area in the World Showcase, as well as the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party in Hollywood Studios, which includes a Star Wars-themed dessert menu and fireworks show. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations and pricing information.
6. Wear Your Disney Birthday Button
Looking for a FREE birthday option? Ask for a complimentary birthday pin! Check with Cast Members at Guest Relations at any of the parks, at your resort front-desk, or at cash registers in the Disney shops. Often times guests showing off their birthday pins receive a little extra pixie dust from Disney’s Cast Members.
So what do you think? Let’s get you packed and ready to celebrate your birthday – or even your “unbirthday” – at Walt Disney World!
