D23 Expo

What sort of events can I expect at the D23 Expo?  One of our favorite things about D23 is the eclectic array of happenings each year.  The 2019 Expo certainly appears to be no exception as Disney recently revealed some of the highlights. These are as follows:

Disney Show Floor – The Expo is a celebration of the past, present and the future of Disney and nowhere is this more evidenced than on the Expo Show Floor.  Here you’ll find exhibits, shopping photo opportunities and so much more.

Expo Stage – D23 Expo 2019 will showcase all of the latest stars in the Disney universe in a variety of panels and experiences.  Last year’s Expo welcomed some of your favorite celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Whoopi Goldberg, Mark Hamill, Robert Downey Jr., Kristen Bell, Chris Hemsworth and so much more!

Disney Legends Awards Ceremony – This special event honors the talented men and women who have made important contributions to the Disney legacy.  In 2017, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were all honored.

Walt Disney Archives Exhibition – This not to be missed exhibit is curated by Walt Disney Archives. Last years event featured a look at the history of Disney and pirates.  We can’t wait to see what they come up with for 2019!

Talent Central – Head over to meet some of your favorite Disney stars! You never know who might turn up to say “Hi!”

Mousequerade – During this event, D23 guests have the opportunity to show of their amazing costumes celebrating your favorite characters from Disney.  The Mousequerade costume contest will be judged by actress Yvette Nicole Brown and fashion designer Ashley Eckstein.

Haunted Mansion Design Challenge – The 2019 D23 Expo Design Challenge will be themed after the much-loved attraction Haunted Mansion which will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2019.  Fans are encouraged to create ghoulishly-themed designs from paintings and drawings to models and sculptures celebrating the 999 happy haunted.  23 pieces of finalist artwork will be on display throughout the D23 Expo weekend.  The winning artist will receive a cash prize of$2,300!

Can I combine my visit to D23 with a Disneyland stay? Absolutely, that’s one of the best things about visiting Anaheim!
