There is a reason that Walt Disney World is referred to as “the most magical place on Earth”. Even their resort hotels are magical! Once you stay “on property” and experience all of the perks, it’s very hard to go back. While all Disney resort hotels have amazing and unique qualities, a few of them really stand out. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is definitely one that stands out! The iconic and beautiful resort was built in 1994 and has been wowing guests ever since. With its perfect Pacific Northwest theme, there are so many reasons to fall in love with Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, here are 5-
Location, Location, Location- The resort is located right on Bay Lake and in very close proximity to Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. Guests can take bus transportation or the ferry boat over to the Magic Kingdom. There is really something so special about taking the boat over, and it is a quick 10-minute ride.
The Dining/Bar Options- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to some of the best and most fun restaurants in all of Disney World! Storybook Dining at Artist Point is a special character meal featuring Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey, and even the Evil Queen! Another popular restaurant is Whispering Canyon Cafe. Whispering Canyon is not just your typical cafe. While dining there you may just have a joke or two played on you by the wait staff-all in good fun, of course. Geyser Point Bar and Grill is another great spot to grab a cocktail or a bite to eat. Geyser Point features an open-air setting and is a great place to relax after a long day at the parks.
Pools- It should come as no surprise that Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has beautiful pools. You can take a ride down the 67-foot water slide at the Copper Creek Springs Pool, which is surrounded by nature. Or relax in the laid-back Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. You will want to take a “rest” day to enjoy all of the amenities offered at this resort!
The Cozy Feel- While all of the Disney Resorts make you feel “at home”, it would be hard to find on more “homey” than Wilderness Lodge. With the log cabin type feel, rocking chairs, and fireplaces, you really feel transported to a luxury cabin in the woods when you stay here.
It is Stunning at Christmastime- It is hard to think of any place at Disney World that is more beautiful at Christmas than Wilderness Lodge. The gigantic tree in the lobby paired with the rustic ambiance of the decor will give you all the holiday vibes. It is a really magical sight to behold.
There really isn’t much to not love about this beautiful property!
