Looks like things are starting to move up at Universal Studios Hollywood with the addition of Super Nintendo World!
Even though the theme park remains closed in California, the project to add a Nintendo land is moving forward. Recently, twitter user @Universal__Core shared some pictures of set pieces that just arrived at Universal.
First we have the mountain facade being assembled at Falls Lake.
A look at the entrance where the mountain will be place to conceal it from the lower lot.
And finally, is that a sneak peak of Yoshi’s shop facade maybe?
Super Nintendo World will be an expansive, themed and immersive land featuring Nintendo’s legendary worlds, characters and adventures. Here, guests will be able to play inside their favorite video games in real life! How cool is that?
Besides that, the land will also feature rides, shops, restaurants and interactive gameplay throughout the land.
As of now, there’s still no date to resume construction of the land at Universal Orlando, in fact NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell announced earlier this month that the construction for “Epic Universe” would be postponed indefinitely until the future becomes more certain.
Universal Studios Japan was set to open Super Nintendo World this summer but due to Covid-19, the opening date has been pushed back to 2021. Then it will be followed by Universal Hollywood, Orlando and Singapore.
